Flight delay and cancellation compensation, BA ONLY

hi , flight from Malaga to London city airport was delayed by two hours as the flight was late coming from Manchester to Malaga.
Then because city airport closes at 10 on a Sunday our flight was diverted to stansted . So although the flight itself was 2 hours late there no way in hell we would get from stansted to city airport in an hour . Can I claim ? Strangely the flight tracker says the plane landed at London city BA 7024 15/09/2019 but it didn’t . And Botts say it’s claimable0 -

Hi byron47,
Put a claim in via BA website for EU261 compensation and any costs getting from Stansted to London City, it should be accepted.
Good luck. Please read Vaubans superb guide. To find it Google and then download 'vaubans guide'.0 -
My flight from Orlando to Gatwick on 4th September 2019 due to leave at 17:30 finally left at 20:40pm landed at Gatwick 3 hours and 1 minute late.
BA are saying this si due to Hurricane Dorian which did not hot Orlando. Other airlines such as Virgin airline were leaving the airport at our original departure time.
I put a claim in this is the response that I got from BA
Thanks for contacting us about your claim for EU compensation. I apologise for the delay in my response. We're sorry it was necessary to delay your flight from Orlando on 04 September.
We take all reasonable measures to avoid disruption to a flight and we always consider if there are any other alternative solutions before we make a decision. The delay was out of our control and caused unforeseen disruption to our schedule.
Your claim's been refused because BA2036 on 04 September was delayed because of adverse weather conditions.
Thanks again for following this up with us. We value your support as a Blue member of our Executive Club and I hope we can welcome you and your travel companions on board again soon. Please feel free to contact me directly by using the blue link below if I can help you with anything else.
Can I go back to them and say that in fact it is not a valid excuse as the hurricane veered off path and was not in Orlando and other flights were leaving the airport. Thanks0 -
EUclaim say's you are not due compensation. Try putting your flight details into bottonline and see what they say.0

If bottonline say you are not due compensation there is nothing stopping you contacting BA and asking for a deadlock letter and then taking it to CEDR Arbitration.0

Hi - I submitted my claim on the 9th August to BA following the IT failure on the 7th August. I have still not heard anything from them with the exception of a follow up email apologising for the delay that it is taking longer than usual. I have chased up requesting a response within 14 days and still nothing. I cannot get through to anyone on a telephone call.
How long do things take and I do I just ride it out? ThanksClaire0 -

I know they are very busy atm due to the number of problems they have been having recently.
Try social media and phoning in the afternoons. After 8 weeks you can refer your claim to ADR.Please read Vaubans superb guide. To find it Google and then download 'vaubans guide'.0 -
I sent a claim in over 8 weeks ago, never heard, doing my own court action. All the ADRs and CAA are a waste of time, they can't force BA to do anything.0

If ADR find in your favour the airline must pay you.
The 'gun to the head' of the airline is for ADR to withdraw their services, leaving the airline in a very awkward situation with the EU regulators. It is not in the airlines interest to go down this road.
However, imo, most of the ADR suppliers don't seem to stick to their own rules, especially timelines. For this reason the regulators should take the worst offender to ask and made an example of them.
A show of authority might improve the overall situation and is well overdue. Please read Vaubans superb guide. To find it Google and then download 'vaubans guide'.0
