  • My experience is that you do everything correctly ie record all contact, keep good records and all paperwork. You then take them to small claims. In my experience they ignored me up to the date of the hearing then a week before paid up in full.

I think most of the advisers here would agree with that.

No point playing letter ping pong, just go straight for the court action.

Well done for winning your compensation, despite the airlines tactics!

  • So just went to post box to find a letter from TUI with a cheque in it for £1168.28 full and final settlement! Very pleased! As I will also get the hearing fee back from the court! All work for this case was done by myself with thanks to this website! So no law firm fees to be take. Off!

Last Wednesday was a pretty bad day with the judge extending the stay for parties to attempt settlement and Thomson not answering anything for months.
I wrote to the court, copy Thomson, saying "how can I negotiate if they do not reply?"
That seemed to do it. I had an email from Thomson, basically, cheque in the post. It arrived this morning. Rather peculiar, it was dated 25/11/14 so someone had been sitting on it. Still after twenty months of quite hard graft it was worth the wait.
Thanks to all on this forum for the immense help provided.
To others, my best advice is- do not give up.
