Flight delay and cancellation compensation, Tui/Thomson ONLY

Hi
Our flight on 29/6/13 from Punta Cana arrived 21 hours late at Manchester Airport. I wrote to Thomson using the template letter on 30th June.
I received a reply on 5th August rejecting claim due to "exceptional circumstances" however the pilot himself told us on 3 separate occasions that the fault was a recurrence of a problem which first showed up on an earlier flight, and although it was thought to be fixed it obviously wasn't.
This was rectified in Punta Cana, so it cannot have been a faulty manufacturer’s part. Because of this delay the flight crew were out of hours and needed a break of 12 hours.
So even then the flight should only have been delayed by 15 hours at the most. The actual departure was 21 hours delayed which is another 6 hours longer than it should have been, which would also qualify for the compensation.
What do you think I should do next and do you think I have a case for compensation?0 -

Unfortunately about 1,800 of them are rather unnecessary, people asking the same old questions over and over again, where a quick read through the FAQ's would find the answers.
But the forum regulars aren't admin, so can't do any more. The FAQ's are there and a fair bit of time has been done compiling them.
So repeated questions now often remain unanswered in an attempt to keep the length of thread more manageable.0 -
Give me the power to strike out posts I dislike, dismiss or despair of! Come on, you know it makes sense. Vote Vauban for your new Administrator!0

Anyhow they sent me it in an email and have just responded. So will not wait and see. Will keep you updated0 -

I have to say that you, 111KAB, and a few others have far more patience than I have. I now just skip through the threads due to repetitive questioning.0 -

I wish it were true. I doubt Wayne, currently posting on the TC thread, would agree. He wants to know how to reject a voucher ...0 -

On the same day that Monarch, Thomas Cook and Thomson all admit the error of their ways. Some way off, then.:(0
