Flight delay and cancellation compensation, Tui/Thomson ONLY

I don't have any sympathy with the airlines regarding the compensation figure being out of context with the possible fare paid.
Try going overweight on your baggage and see how much they charge you! (at the airport).
£1 for a tiny pack of pringles on the plane. Extortionate prices for water. Exceptionally different than High Street exchange rates Euros - Pound if you buy on board in Euros.
And the list goes on and on.
They don't like it up 'em!0 -

I have twice sent my claim to Thomson now, firstly early April, and secondly early June and to date I have received no acknowledgement or reply from them at all. Do they reply to any letters sent ? Whats my next step please ? Any help is appreciated as am sure I have a claim for a 3 hour & 10 minute delay from Menorca to Manchester in October 2011. Thanks in advance everyone :-)0

Dear all
I posted on the main forum but just to let you know that I was due to go to court last Thursday and Thomson agreed to settle out of court for a delay from 2010. Thomson agreed 400 euros each (2 of us) and court costs. My ex-husband is a barrister and he did the claim for me and I am happy to email anyone a copy (it quite lengthy).
This was despite Thomson saying it was 'extraordinary' circumstances (it wasn't) and lying over the distance from Manchester to Palma (to try and get the lower amount). My case was put on hold in 2010 but I didn't give up!

Dear Kerrie
I have been told that my claim is out of date for a flight from Manchester to Cancun May 2008. My next step will be County Court.
I shall be grateful, therefore, if you will send me a copy of you claim as I am sure you must have used the correct wording.
Thanks Patti0 -

I don't think Kerrie is here any more. But regardless her defence document was for the final hearing - you don't need any of that to initiate court proceedings. Have a look at the thread "Taking the airlines to court", as it has the necessary wording there, I think.0 -
Thanks Vauban, I'll do that0

Hi
I am thinking of trying to claim back money for a delayed Thomson flight in 2010 but I am unsure which template letter to use because the flight was initially delayed and then cancelled.
We were due to fly back from Marrakech airport to Manchester airport on the 18 October 2010 at 8.50pm. We were told by the reps before getting on the coach to be taken to the airport that they thought there was a delay because of French air strikes but they weren't sure how long the delay was. We ended up waiting around in the airport until 10.30pm when it was finally announced that the flight was cancelled due to pilot's hours being exceeded.
We were taken back to a different hotel to our original one for the night and put on a new flight the following morning at 9.39am. We landed back in Manchester at 2.45pm on the 19 October, 13 hours and 20 minutes later than scheduled.
Bearing all the above in mind, do we have a claim and if so do we use the cancellation template or the delay template?
Also, we don't have anything from the booking because it is 3 years ago and unfortunately I am too organised and regularly delete my emails . I am hoping to get a booking reference when I ring Thomsons tomorrow as I know someone who has done this but will not having anything to include with the claim stop them processing it?
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Hi - there are two things you could do for this - firstly you can look through your payment records to find credit card statements etc - this will prove you bought a ticket. Secondly, my understanding is that you can pay a small fee (I think it's £10) and request that Thomson send you confirmation that you were on the flight - others on here will know more about it I'm sure.0
