    Hi There

We received 4 x £50 compensation vouchers for a delayed Monarch flight last summer prior to putting in a claim under the EU ruling. If we use these vouchers towards another flight this summer, will this be classed as our 'compensation' and therefore our EU claim will be seen as settled?

    Any advice greatly appreciated!

What are the two airports for this flight please?

14 days notice. Not that they'll take a blind bit of notice of it.

  • Hi Guys,

I,ve posted here before and am still waiting for a payment/refusal from Monarch.A brief description I was delayed on the 8/9/12,flying to Palma from Manchester.Reason given when I wrote to them in November was they were experiencing technical problems within their fleet blah blah blah and please fill in a compensation form. Its now 6 weeks since then and i have decided to give them till March which will be over 4 months since my first correspondence with them.

How could I find out what time they new that my flight would be delayed and what were the extraordinary technical problems they were experiencing.
I checked on the day of my departure at 0700 and it was showing as delayed then, my flight was scheduled for 1635 and eventually left at 2335.
    Thanks
  • I put a claim in for flight ZB647 Larnaca to Manchester. It was a 9 hour delay which includes 2 hrs sat on the runway and a further hour on Birmingham runway. They received the recorded letter on the 3rd Feb. I have not had any correspondence from them at all!

It took them three and a half months to respond to my letter, Missy - so you might need to be a little bit more patient yet.

On the other hand, they're only going to respond with the "extraordinary circumstances" response, so you might as well write one more time with a Notice Before Action giving them 14 days to respond. But don't eactually expect them to.

At least then you'll be free to take them to Court; and that's unfortunately what it's going to take if you actually want compensation ... :(

Had a look at flightstats to see if I could find out any further information about my flight, its showing mine as cancelled and not a delay, Wehere do they get the info from?
  • Hi.

Delayed by 7 hrs on mon 5765 sharm el sheik to gatwick on 8 july 2010.

After asking several times, they've finally denied my claim due to a throttle jam meaning the cable needed replacing.

Any ideas whether this is a common problem, or where I go from here. Prepared to go to court if necessary but at the moment don't feel I have enough info.

MON303 15/6/2012 Manchester to Sanford - Claim denied:

Aircraft scheduled for flight developed a fault on number one management computer on 13/6/12. Engineer was called in to rectify and aircraft was declared serviceable to operate its next planned flight to Calgary.

Arrangements were made for the computer to be replaced on the morning of the 14th following its return to the UK. Following replacement of the part the aircraft was then scheduled to operate back to Calgary. However this flight was delayed as a result of headwinds.

Consequently the departure of your own flight was unavoidably delayed as a result.

Is this classed as "extraordinary circumstances"? Thanks
