    Claim denied for:
    MON5953 Corfu to Gatwick 26 July 2008 - "the aircraft originally scheduled to operate your flight developed a ruptured left hand left bleed duct on a previous flight. This rendered the aircraft unservicable and unsafe to operate"
    Not sure if this means the flight before the flight before our flight was rendered unservicable...
    ..."in order to reduce the length of delay, we arranged for the first available aircraft from within the Monarch fleet to operate your flight..."
    where does Monarch keep the fleet? In USA?!
    Not sure whether to ask them again to explain more (i.e not extraordinary circumstance) or take the court route?

    Entire MON and ZB fleet is UK based.

    Court time. Previous flights are not EC's to your flight.

    Tom, agree re Mark's efforts particulary as his claim has been met. Unfortunately I believe Monarch have so many outstanding unreplied claims it would be hard to keep track ~ just take a look at Monarch Facebook page and you will see an almost hourly update of dissatisfaction. There is a guy on fb who is in the process of setting up a website www.monarchcomplaints.co.uk which should go live early next week ~ this may be a good place to start off your idea coupled with some factual stuff from Mark and Centipede.

    Looks from his fb page that this site may not go live as he appears to have settled his dispute (not delay) with Monarch. There is however a Monarch review site at http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews10838.html
    plus fb seems active on the complaints/delay issue.
  • The site monarchcomplaints.co.uk won't be around long...

    Google Monarch Airlines V Webster (Jan 2008)

    Thanks for this. Sorry to have to ask what you mean by "EC's", and can you point me to a case regarding knock on effects as not being extraordinary?

    EC's = Extraordinary Circumstances

  • We have had one claim with monarch which has been turned down due to a technical fault and they are saying it was EC but we have another claim with another airline that was also turned down due to EC as the previous journey had a disruptive passenger! This flight was diverted which then resulted in our journey having a delay of over 4 hours. Am I right in thinking that the airline shouldn't use EC in relation to a previous problem on a previous journey?
