    after much cajoling and harrassment on all forms of communication to monarch I received this

    Monarch are a joke ... they have had ages to look at claims and indeed the Supreme Court only rejected the Jet2 appeal - the law was already in place. The fact that they are admitting to thousand of claims (and only a small percentage of people claim) indicates their lack of ability to run scheduled flights to a schedule. Their comment that they will process claims efficiently and speedily has an air of doubt about it given their previous extensive inefficiencies.

  • Hi. Was delayed on the ZB655 Malaga Manchester flight 4/11/2012, which was refused by Monarch and then the CAA told me to apply to European body, couldnt be bothered at time. Since the recent legal info, have decided to re apply for compensation.

    We were delayed for 9 hours and Monarch said at the time, this was due to Nose Landing Gear and exceptional circumstances blah blah blah. Just got paperwork out and found a letter received at Malaga on the day of delay saying "This is due to the aircraft operating your flight being released late from hanger maintenance. A letter I can't remember sending in at the time. Could anybody tell me if they have been compensated to date for a)A flight operated by Monarch which gave either Nose Landing gear or released late from hanger maintenance as the reason or indeed on this same flight. I will of course update you if and when I hear anything. Thanks

    Apparently all outstanding claims with monarch will be contacted today or tomorrow once the legal team "get a process in place"

    so this was nonsense

    As is their 'review' where people have already booked flights for 2015 only to find the flights are no longer listed on their web site ....
    "Update for anyone flying from Manchester to Antalya summer 2015 and ...have already booked. This is brilliant you couldn't make it up. ..... tweeted Monarch and they replied that this flight was now no longer going to run summer 2015, there is a shock. I phoned to get refund and complain that we should have been informed in writing not a tweet - finally got through and the customer services representative told me that flight was still under review and not cancelled, so I told them what the tweet from Monarch said and the initials at the end. He then transferred me to the person that tweeted the information. He told me that the information he has is not 100% but Monarch will call me tomorrow with 100% information. I am now sitting here totally confused. They both work for Monarch so !!!!!!."


    Alright I know this is not a delay (but it is an early cancellation .... possibly!) but it just goes to show Monarch themselves do not know what is happening and where they are flying. Disconcerting really as they are supposedly an airline.

    111KAB is uncharacteristically quite wrong. Monarch have turned a corner, and customer service is now their first priority. I read it on their Facebook page, so it must be true.
  • Hi,

    Just need clarification on a delay.

    My flight fron Greece to Birmingham was delayed due to the inbound flight being delayed. Basically, the flight into Greece was diverted due to a crew member being taken ill.

    We were delayed over 6 hours. Do we qualify for compensation in this case?
