  • How can I get hold of my flight details from Monarch Airways dating back to 2008? I've logged onto their website and they don't hold old flight details.

I fear that unless I have this information, I won't be able to apply for compensation

    Any help?

Which month was it in 2008?

The reason I cancelled the flights was because I didn't want to lose a day’sholiday and now I am flying from Gatwick, so a night in a hotel in Birmingham(in live in Cornwall) is pretty useless to me! Hence the fact I am losing themoney.

I understand that 8 hours might not seem significant to the airline, or toanyone else, but it's a day holiday and when you've spent as much as I have(eight return flights and accommodation, not to mention everything else) I wantevery hour I can get.

To be honest I don't think my insurance will cover the cost because it's not just for me and my partner....

It might be the case that I can't claim but think I am going to give it a go anyway.

Info on ZB535 Palma to Manchester 23/9/2011, this claim was initially declined last year, good old 'exceptional circumstances' - "a fault with the number one engine".

Going to appeal this on the basis of technical issues not necessarily being 'exceptional'.

Well I hope when you say "appeal", you mean send an NBA. It doesn't sound exceptional - or indeed extraordinary (which is what the Reg says).
  • I'm more than certain it was in August 2008 - mid-afternoon flight on the way to Larnaca/Cyprus from Luton. It was roughly 2-3 hour delay. The return flight was supposed to land at 1am (I think) but was after 5am we landed - 4+ hours delay

you could search the route and month in flightstats to see if you can pinpoint the date.

Got paid out this week - another success for Bott & Co.
  • Hi, anyone had any luck claiming for this flight which was delayed approx 24 hours?
I wrote to Monarch, they denied liability, wrote to CAA they sent it back to Monarch which they then again denied liability under extraodinary circumstances, (it was a technical fault) I was going to take it to small claims court but wondered if it was worth it?
    Thanks
