Thanks V, I hadn't realised there was a further charge. Never mind, I've come this far! The hearing date is actually 11th September but I wouldn't have known that if I hadn't rang the court. I'll pop in tomorrow, pay the 2nd fee and chat to the staff to ensure there isn't anything else I should be aware of.0

I've been following this thread for sometime now, as I was on the ZB743 Malaga to Gatwick on 07/10/12, originally refused compensation re. EC due to No.2 C-Duct etc....
I followed the process of submitting a claim, receiving rejection from Monarch, contacting the CAA who put me onto their Spanish counterparts (AESA). I wrote to them and received a response stating no response to them from Monarch and not an EC as far as they were concerned. Wrote back to Monarch and gave them the NBA in respect of my travelling party (12).
Was about to commence action when totally out of the blue, I received a letter from Monarch to say that they had reviewed the situation following the AESA's intervention and had reversed their decision, in that the delay WAS NOT an EC and offered the Reuters equivalent of €400 per traveller. This cheque has now been received.
I don't know why Monarch "caved in" without Court action but thought I'd share with you.0 -

Camelfish, if you don't mind me asking a few questions...
1. How long was your delay?
2. Did the tech issues directly affect the plane which was due to operate your flight or were there knock on / crew hours issues?0 -

If you do not feel capable of pursuing claim yourself might be worth contacting different firm but most take around 30% of your compensation.0 -
I gave the CAA my case to look at back in february and still no reponse, they dont take calls and dont reply to emails, I have assigned my case to flight mole but i would still like the CAA view0

Email flightmole as follows and to be doubly sure write to ALCL ('owners' of flightmole) and give them 14 days to respond or you will go elsewhere.
