You must remember that these people working in this area of work become desensitized due to seeing people day in and day out with medical conditions. They are usually used in care homes. Also why else was so many people left to die in a hospital recently due to being ignored by the medical staff, not even their basic needs of the sick people in their care was administrated to these people and left to die in appalling conditions. Was this because they were not useful to society and would not be earning and paying taxes therefore not contribution to the greedy uncivilized society we are living in and were costing working society money and were expendable.

I have looked up the 'doctor' who carried out my assesment on the GMC website and cant find one with his name (Dr Xxxxx Yyyyy) only Dr Aaaaaaa Xxxxxxx Yyyyyy, do HCP professionals have to identify themselves using their GMC registered name on our reports?

Woops, ATOS Representative, you missed this little cherry....
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.

    Hi Raksha

    Sorry, I missed this one.

Yes, a doctor’s name on the report should match their GMC registration. If you can contact us with the details we will look into what has happened in this case.

  • I had a home medical on 22nd may for DLA and received letter this mornig advising I had to attend medical centre for medical .
I phoned to inform them of the home visit, they advised this one was for ESA and can't use previous medical notes. I i advised them I was not able to attend medical centre as I could not walk that far, they advised I would have to get GP to fax a letter confirming this.

What a waste of tax payers money

The worst of it is Dwp paid me off on ill health and the assesment centre is at my old work place, how degrading to have my old colleaguse see me in this situation.

Sorry to hear this from both of you but I'm afraid this will fall on deaf ears as the Atos rep only listens to what he/she chooses just the same as the medical staff do, I think they all have the same training and that is to get as many off the books as possible and then they will get a big fat bonus at the end, but keep watching here and the press because soon it will all be in the public domain how this government and Atos are in bed together.

Let me guess, the Occupational Health advisers that your employer used when making the decision to end your employment were ATOS. (Who currently have the contract for the majority of Gov't departments).

This IMO is a major problem.

How can ATOS have their fingers in both pies.

Firstly providing information to an employer that advises the person is not fit for work and is unlikely to improve their ability to work. Therefore helping a Gov't department get rid of an employee.

Secondly, holding the fate of the claimant, the same person they claim is unfit to work, in their hands.

Talk about a conflict of interest.

There are literally hundreds of cases where ATOS have been the OHA's providing advice to employers on the capability of their employees to remain as part of the workforce, advising that these people are unfit to continue working, YET when it comes to making a claim for ESA (which would be the normal route, afterall ATOS claim they are unfit for work) these same people are told by ATOS that they are fit to work.

They have been complicit in the termination of an indivviduals employment, providing assistance to the employer in determining a persons ability to work, and yet the same company, possibly even the same person, can then declare a person to be fit to work, or fit to return to work in 'x' months.

It would be interesting to see this tested in a court.
[SIZE=-1]To equate judgement and wisdom with occupation is at best . . . insulting.

    Hi dori2o,

As I said to you before, occupational health and disability assessments are not the same and have different objectives. An occupational healthcare assessment is designed to see if somebody is able to do their current job, while a disability assessment looks at what people can do and if they are capable of undertaking some work.

As you're still very occasionally dropping in perhaps you can comment on THIS.

"Declared 'fit to work'... dead nine days later: Double lung and heart transplant patient passed away a week after her benefits were stopped"

    Also explain:-

"She then had to be assessed by Atos assessors in Southend, but despite her regular blackouts and medical history her husband was not allowed to be present."
