Before you go off again rather than answering questions can you comment on this egregious story regarding atos?
Here
In particular.."She then had to be assessed by Atos assessors in Southend, but despite her regular blackouts and medical history her husband was not allowed to be present."0 -

This is what happens when atos work to the DWP targets they are given to throw sick and disabled people off their benefits0 -
Dear Atos Rep,
Im really eagerly waiting for my appointment with you. I have been diagnosed with several severe mental health conditions and have to take anti-phychotic and mood stabilising medication every day. This leaves me feeling so sedated i can hardly move at times. My life is so bad now and has been like this many years.
My consultant keeps increasing the dose of my medication as my syptoms worsen. I really cant wait to see you as I have heard you can make people with simular conditions to mine fit for work in just a matter of months0 -
I have looked up the 'doctor' who carried out my assesment on the GMC website and cant find one with his name (Dr Xxxxx Yyyyy) only Dr Aaaaaaa Xxxxxxx Yyyyyy, do HCP professionals have to identify themselves using their GMC registered name on our reports? Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0

As the ATOS rep is extraordinarily selective at the moment and only seems to pop on to justify their own PR statements...
They certainly should do. However a quick call to ATOS main enquiries should give you the GMC number. On ours, ATOS had spelled his name incorrectly on the forms meaning we couldn't look him up.

Good luck with the examination. I have similar conditions and treatments and according to the Atos Doctor, I should have been fit for work within 3 months although no explanation was given on how I could achieve such a feat.
8 months after the assessment a tribunal decided that I was unfit for work and agreed that my condition had deteriorated since my assessment 18 months earlier. Tthe tribunal stated that my initial ESA50 provided more than enough evidence to support this decision.
If it's any consolation my Consultant Psychiatrist told me that every single one of his patients has been found fit for work by Atos only to have the decision overturned on appeal and at Tribunal. Obviously this is only his personal experience but to me it raises some major questions.0 -

I did not ask for the Doctor's details when I had my assessment. I later wrote to Atos asking for the details. They sent me a very nice letter telling me that they had passed my request on to the DWP who would provide me with the details. It took 2 reminder letters before I finally received the details however they did eventually provide the Doctor's full name and his GMC number which did check out at http://www.gmc-uk.org/doctors/register/LRMP.asp using the "Check a doctor's registration status" link on the right hand side of the page.0 -

That's where I looked, using the name given on the bottom of my HCP report. Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0 -

Thanks for this, Did you supply any evidence from your phyciatrist or GP when you first sent back your esa50?
My doctor has offered to write a supporting letter for £45 but has said that on most occasions the letters are ignored and it ends up at a tribunal.
I have care plans from a consultant so will send them.0
