You still haven't really answered my question, where does this so called HCP get the right to say that in their opinion two weeks is enough time to recover from surgery? Baring in mind I was told this on the day I actually got my stitches out!

Their "opinion" shouldn't even come into it!

I'm not bothered about my assessment I beat your disgraceful system, the DWP overturned Atos's decision which was not to give me any points after my assessment and stating I was fit for work. DWP were that embarrassed by the assessors report after checking my supporting medical documentation and could clearly see I was unfit for work and eight months later I am still unable to work and awarded me ESA, I didn't even need to appeal.

My question is why do your assessors lie and embarrass you in this way.

I actually won my appeal, less than three weeks later I got an envelope full of forms from atos yet again! This time I'm so down about it all I haven't got it in me to appeal, they wear you down with their constant lies.

Have you brought this matter to the attention o your MP. There is some concern amongst MPs regarding this practice of sending people who have had the temerity to appeal and win a further questionnaire to fill out.

Did the appeals panel give a length of time that you should be in the WRAG or Support Group?

Unfortunately it doesn't. My consultant and physio said this is a 6 / 8 week recovery if all goes well. How can a HCP have the right to say "in their opinion two weeks is sufficient time"? What gives them the right to say in their opinion?

Nowhere in the comic book of reasons does it say I've been suffering from depression. It says I carrier a heavy looking medium sized bag, I don't own a medium sized bag! My bag is big enough to fit a purse, phone and keys in it!

They lie through their teeth, my assessor said i walked unaided, yet I had a walking stick on one side and my husband supporting me on the other. Somehow I was carrying a large bag, not sure which hand I was carrying it in because I didn't take one, I supposedly sat there quite comfortable for 40mins and didn't move when they took me in another room to do some exercises after 20 mins. They are a joke, don't let them grind you down and don't give up it is just what they want.

Mine also said I sat comfortably for 30 minutes, I know for a fact I had to keep moving about or I'd have gone stiff, apparently I can lift cartons of milk, where did that come from?

Sadly this is par for the course. By false assessments, not responding to complaints adequately, repeatedly sending out forms, people are easily worn down, particularly the most vulnerable. Many simply have to give up in trying to get a fair result... then it goes down as a success for the number of people coming off benefits / a reduction in the number of false claimants etc.

I expected the benefit assessment procedures to be rigorous, but sadly I also expected them to be fair :(

All I can say is try not to give up, try to get help with the process, try to complain (to ATOS and your MP) if you feel that the assessment or report was not professionally undertaken.

Apparently people are "very afraid, very scared, very worried, when they come and have an assessment" because of "misinformation (about ATOS assessments)" http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-22197905
Sadly I feel that more people are "very afraid, very scared, very worried, when they come and have an assessment" because they know that the assessment and / or report will be conducted in an unfair and/or unprofessional manner... Still at least they will 'say sorry' afterwards!

    Best wishes,
    Dee

Then your fit for work as a milkman, whats your problem?
  • I've hardly posted, but over a period of time I've trawled my way through this thread and one thing sticks out Atos rep - a complete avoidance of the issues.

Everytime you're in a sticky corner you come out with the same old line..."cannot comment on individual cases; feel free to contact us re your specific circumstances" etc., etc.

Well I for one am sick of this charade - this is a public forum and we want PUBLIC answers.

If you're so squeaky clean, what's the problem??
