My question still hasn't been answered ATOS. How can an unconscious person be aware of hazards and be able to avoid them?
Yaaay, I finally conned a man into making a honest woman of me. Even more shocking is that I can put the words "Happily" and "Married" into the same sentence and not have life insurance on my mind when I say it ;-)
  • Because they get paid to make sure you fail your assessment.

    - worth a second look

    Hi fin7

Atos Healthcare HCPs are carrying out a different role to that of a consultant. Where consultants are treating or diagnosing patients our HCPs are carrying out a functional assessment against criteria set out by the government. This is different and doesn’t mean that one is overruling the other.

Of course it does! I was told by the DWP that in was in your so called professional opinion that two weeks was enough time to get over an op, who the hell gave her the right to say her opinion comes before a consultant? It should have nothing to do with her opinion!

if you are referring to ESA the answer is very simple and you would have found it without asking Atos if looking at the right place

the descriptor for consciousness is a purely physical descriptor - fits, seizures or blackouts

the descriptor for awareness of dangers is purely mental descriptor - for example someone with so severe learning difficulties who does not understand that the knife is sharp or does not get it at all that the traffic on the street is dangerous, hence, he/she requires supervision

keep in mind that there are at least 3 different situations when you may not be aware of dangers:

    1) visual impairment - you do not see the danger

    2) loss of consciousness

    3) severe learning difficulties or cognitive problems - you do not understand/comprehend the danger

they are covered in different descriptors areas, because the functional areas are different

now going into detail with your question - you may or may not be at risk if losing your consciousness, the majority of people with epilepsy and hypos have warnings and are able to take appropriate action to make themselves safe (sit down before falling, eating something sweet, drinking lucozade, etc.) ... there is a very small amount of people with completely unpredictable loss of consciousness that suffer regular injuries, then it should be considered if this risk can be mitigated (suitable adjustments) during work related activity (training for example) ... if not, then you should be placed at support group for physical risk

Well atos rep, can you tell me why your so call hcp's are lying?

I've just received the so call report, its like a fantasy story! Funny how everything I couldn't even do at the medical is down here as done with no problems! There's no mention of the fact I've been suffering with depression, no mention of even going for an op, and it says the hospital stopped the physio, did they? No one told me that!

The whole thing is a disgrace! I'm absolutely livid!
