Does your wife have aspergers ?
Leave the man alone. He has people around him that can help. He is in supported housing. Why would anyone need professional advice before they even get the paper work ?0 -

No, I don't have a wife. My partner doesn't have bowels anymore, and whilst we will never be able to prove it ,I firmly believe it is because of the hell that the DWP and ATOS put her through over the last 16 months by their provably false assessmets and procedural errors, the more help you can get the better when dealing with them - we left it too late.
If someone is placed in WRAG when they feel they shouldn't be then they should seek advice to appeal and get put into the support group
My partner was put in WRAG and although I had to take time from work to take her to the appointments, her advisor used to call her at home, hassling her to get full time work - during this time her appeal documents were 'lost' (although the SPEC1 form says they actually were not) leaving our neighbours to get me home from work because my partner was in the street crying for help as the DWP kept calling her, hassling her to get full time work.
Hopefully this won't happen to the OP but don't you feel that it is better that he gets advice to be put in the correct category for his needs ? He may not be as lucky with advice or JCP advisors as your son

No he may not, but telling someone with aspergers the above will no nothing but make him worried sick. He will not go and get the help you told him to, because that would require him to speak to a stranger. Something he will not be able to do.
He lives in supported housing. The people that are there to support him, will know what to do. It was quite obvious he came on here for some reassurance. The support team had already told him, they would deal with it, but he just wanted to hear it from someone else.
As I said he may not find it as easy as my son, but I doubt he will find it as hard as your partner. They have completely different disabilities, which would be looked at completely differently.
Being put in WRAG is not being sent to the depths of hell. It can be appeal it, if you disagree.
Please, before you give people the worse case scenario, look at the disability they have. You may be doing more harm than ATOS.0 -
I dont think it is worse case scenario Own My Own.

It may be. But how does it help a worried young lad with ASD at 1.02 in the morning ? The lad is in supported housing, so will get lots of help filling in the forms and going the medical etc. He is not doing it alone.
It was quite obvious he just needed some reassurance, which I tried to give him.
isolation jumping in with his partners 16 months of hell helped no-one except himself.0 -
Just wanted to say a quick thanks to the Atos Rep who answered all my questions quickly.
My mum Received a letter yesterday from the Dwp saying she had passed and has been placed in the Support group without needing a medical.
So thanks again for all the question you answered.0 -
A question to the ATOS rep:
As some of your HCP's are unable to speak English very clearly, and have difficulty understanding local peoples accents, how can a Claimant be confident that the correct, accurate answers/information is being typed into the Computer?0 -

This is why you need to get your assessment recorded. Then if there is any discrepancy between what you told the so called "healthcare professional" and what they decided should be "typed" onto the report there is a record of it.
Incidentally it is an Atos computer program called LiMA which runs the assessment and all the so called "healthcare professional is click answer boxes to questions the computer decides to throw up!!
Just Google 'Atos LiMA' and see what it throws up!
The computer really does say NO!!!0 -

We are in touch with the relevant professional bodies and we’re about to agree an approach very soon.

Does this mean if you are assessed during the period you are receiving contributions based ESA and put in the support group, you will continue to receive after the 365 days expires? Sorry to have to keep asking questions, my concentration is shotPlease forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0
