Parking Eye signage statement

I've had a Parking Charge Notice from Parking Eye for 15 minute overstay in a free 3 hour car park.
I wonder if it's worth pointing out to them that their first photograph is of my car waiting in a queue to get into the car (near the front of a long queue - the Christmas sales were on) and the second is taken after the car left the car park. They don't have a photo of my car actually in the car park and have not made allowances for the time taken to get into the car park.
They claim that their signage is clearly displayed and that's true of the main details but the other terms and conditions "by which those who park in the car park agree to be bound" (their words) are illegible from ground level - their signs are at at the top of posts. I eventually read the details (the small print) by photographing a sign using zoom and blowing up the part of the photo containing the small print. I wonder again if it's worth pointing that out as the unreadable small print contains details of agreeing to the contract, then I could not agree to the contract.
When we left the car park there were many empty spaces (after 6pm) so there was no loss to the landowner due to our car being parked for over 3 hours. Parking Eye want £60 now or £100 if not paid by 18 January.
I hate the thought of being bombarded with Parking Eye mail. Is it worth using any of the above points and writing to them. Is it likely to stop their mail?

The consensus on here is that if you write to them then they will clock you as a more likely candidate that will be scared into paying. While you may be right about their poor signage it makes not a jot of difference because its best to ignore than try to appeal to their better side. They haven't got one. Best to ignore the mail you will get and live with that and in the knowledge its junk mail.Got a ticket from ParkingEye? Seek advice by clicking here: Private Parking forum on MoneySavingExpert.:j0 -
They are scammers, what do you think their reply would be ? They are interested in one thing and one thing only and that is money. They will turn your appeal to their scam company .
So there's no point writing to them. Just ignore them and enjoy keeping your money. If you wish do a survey of those retailers and ask them this, if I had a £100 in my pocket where would you prefer it be, in a third scam unethical parking company or your till ? Wonder what the answer would be ?When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.

I got an extra charge imposed by ParkingEye last October, a fortnight after I had returned from holiday in Lake District. I appealed to Popla but they refused the appeal. They said the notice was clear and that I was in 'breach of contract'. I paid to park and assumed the 'pay and display' meant what it said. However, the car registration number was entered incorrectly by my son, I think he thougt it was not very important! ParkingEye have seized on this and claimed it is a 'breach of contract'. I think they are to blame because the sign clearly says 'pay and display' and it is no such thing. I did not realise that I should have kept the parking ticket as a receipt as I thought it would be inspected during the stay on the car park. They have photos of my car entering and leaving the car park but no photo of the ticket displayed on the windscreen. I have no proof that I have paid but neither have they got proof that I did not pay. I received a further notice from Popla this morning telling me to pay up or else - or words to that effect! I have since found out that ParkingEye have to pay Popla for their services so I would advise anyone not to bother with Popla. Not sure what to do now but I don't feel like giving ParkingEye a £100 when I have already paid!0

And great that you appealed to POPLA. All that means is that Parking Eye have now lost money!!One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0

PE have lost no money, and neither has the LDNPA. In what way did you breach a so-called contract. If it was in the Lake District, their signage is a joke. PE won't attempt to take it further than more threatening letters (which you will ignore).
Do, however, complain to the Lake District National Park Authority (I'm assuming the ticket was a result of parking there). They have already decided to terminate all parking contracts with PE (which should tell you all you need to know), but more fuel to the fire always helps.0 -
Can you do us a favour, could you post or scan the refusal letter from popla here, you can remove personal information from it . And by the way popla is NOT binding on youWhen posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.

POPLA should not be telling you to" pay up or else " !
Just who do they think they are ?
Would be interesting to see a scan of that POPLA letter.0 -
Just want to thank everyone for their advice to me a few months ago when I received a parking charge notice from Parking Eye. I ignored all their letters and hopefully will not hear from them again. I would not have had the confidence to ignore their threats without the support from fellow MSE forumites. Many thanks0

So, the appeal and its response, please (scans of paperwork better than you attempting to precis it)? It would be most informative.0
