That's a laugh. If you are a parent with a toddler or a blue badge holder you can only park in the marked spaces, so if they are all full and you park in an unmarked space you will get a ticket. They at least seem to have heard about blue badges not being valid in private car parks and don't say you have to display it.

Literacy is clearly not the strongest skill these PPC guys and gals have, protection racket is the name of the game.

FYI - A large batch of Court Summons (Claims) for various unpaid Parking Charges have been issued by us today.

I see that you still breaking forum and BPA rules by not declaring your company name. Why is that?
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

Cannot copy and paste Popla refusal of appeal for some reason into this post. The gist of it is that Popla think ParkingEye is in the right because even though they are not accusing me of being dishonest they still want £100 off me - they are accusing me of 'breach of contract'. If they think I am honest they must want the extra money because a mistake was made. Is this sufficient grounds for them taking action? Popla say the ParkingEye sign was very clear but I disagree. It said 'Pay & Display' so surely an inspector should have checked that people were displaying their tickets! I cannot prove that I paid but neither can ParkingEye prove that I have not. They have photos of my car arriving and leaving but none of the windscreen with the ticket on it.

Can anyone give advice on copying and pasting into this forum?

If you still have the original invoice from PE and that says it's for not paying then if they do take it to the small claims it will have to be for the same thing ( not paying to park ) and not for paying but entering the wrong number.

I did not think toddlers were allowed to drive.

And since a large proportion of drivers would be parents, how do they fit into the few parent and toddler bays?

And if a driver is both a parent and disabled, how do they park in both a parent (and toddler) bay AND a disabled bay as required?

  • My first post on 23/12/12 stated how I had received an extra parking charge from ParkingEye of £100. They would not believe me when I said that I had paid the parking fee but a mistake had been made when the car registration number was entered. To cut a long story short, after several weeks of harassment from ParkingEye, an appeal to Popla (which was turned down), letters to various organisations which seemed unable to help very much, I have heard nothing from ParkingEye for some time now. I am not sure whether they have dropped the 'case' or are just waiting to pounce. If the former, why did they accuse me in the first place?

The advice given to me by this forum was to ignore ParkingEye and I think this is the best thing to do. It was pure chance that we parked on the Hawkshead car park that day and there was plenty of room. The only outcome of this affair has been lots of worry and anxiety for me and my family for the best part of six months. I find the whole incident very puzzling.

They accused you in the first place just in case you were scared enough to send them money that you legally didn't owe them. Believe it or not, a lot of people do pay up - enough for the directors of these companies to own large houses, yachts, horses, etc...etc... Which is why they keep doing it.

The reason you've not heard any more from them, is - despite POPLA being spectacularly ignorant when it comes to Contract Law - Parking Eye know damn well that a court of law would not be so ignorant, and that they'd lose badly.

  • Thanks everyone for this info. I recently received a letter off parking eye saying i have a parking charge notice. I always park in the same car park in manchester. However, a week ago after finding a place to park i went to use the paying machine and it wouldnt accept any coins. I then left to use another car park and thought nothing of it. The notice i received has got a photograph of me entering and leaving the car park and the time being 11minutes. I was wondering is it worth me appealing as it genuinly wasnt at fault, or ignoring as others have suggested?

    Thanks Debbie

As long as the car is yours or you know the registered keeper well (i.e. its not a hire or lease car) then ignore is probably the best policy.

Appealing is also a possible, its not a no no, but you need to take advice and know and understand what you are appealing on.

Depends how you want to play it.
