Sainsburys have posted a rise in sales. That's good news? It's reported today on the BBC. Tescos reported a fall in sales not too long back. Bad news. BBC reported it.
What key things do you see that are not reported, that you would like to see reported. Just remember, it has to be deemed to be within the public interest, otherwise the BBC website would just be flooded with every single story of the day.
What I do notice with the BBC, and the others to an extent, is that even if they report both sides of a story they then bring one or more commentators or experts who very often only support the liberal line. Very often there is no balance, in terms of someone to argue the opposite point of view.
Regarding the main discussion, if any Jessops branches survive they will probably be mainly in the malls. People no longer have much taste for trawling cold, wet, dismal high streets, with limited, expensive, or non-existent car parking to contend with, and often a limited scope of shops available when they get there.No-one would remember the Good Samaritan if he'd only had good intentions. He had money as well.
The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money.

Few people work in retail for the fun and frolic of customer service. They do it because it is flexible hours or because stacking shelves is the pinnacle of their life achievement. Either way, these people are going to struggle to find alternative work if the high street goes out of business. Internet based businesses will only need a fraction of these numbers to support their growth

Back in the 80s Jessops beat many of the small independents on price and service, but lost their way, and did not know or try to compete with the internet. Recently I think they had too many stores, some towns had 3 Branches. I haven't been into a store to buy a camera for some time and have used a site like dpreview to get most of the info I need, or a magazines like Shuttterbug.Fred Bloggs0

But you'd probably have to join a three year waiting list for a telephoto lens.No-one would remember the Good Samaritan if he'd only had good intentions. He had money as well.
