Re my earlier posts..I paid by debit card and have been informed by Nat West that they won't give me a refund...Going to my branch tomorrow and trying under the chargeback scheme...if that doesn't work I might take my overdraft elsewhere..!
Even if your payment to Jessops was on the debit card if it used an overdraft you should therefore be protected under section 75.
  • Cine and Video orders are handles by IC Video Ltd in Aylesbury. They go to Cewe Color in Warwick first, they handle distribution.

Ring IC Video on 01296 334944 they should be able to hlep you track down your order.

Anyone who ordered a Photobook online will, I belive have paid Cewe Color (who produce the books), they in turn pay Jessops a commission. I think they should get their books.

Chris... a now ex Jessops insider...

    Hi Chris

Any idea whether Jessops Legacy is dealt by an external company.

Dropped off about 1,000 old photos to be scanned through the Legacy service which would have been due for collection this week.

Obviously I want my old photos returned as I don't want to lose them.

I'm ringing the Jessops helpline tomorrow and knocking on the shutters of my local store but if you know the name of the company they use to scan photos, at least I have someone else to chase!

    What store next ?????
  • I remember buying a camera from them many years ago... and then finding it online much cheaper. So under their returns policy I took it back for a refund and bought the cheaper one.

The guy in the shop was very helpful when i bought it, and I felt very guilty. He seemed very surprised.

I remember thinking, the writing is on the wall for this business... :(

is there really any need for a dedicated national camera retailer when you can buy them with ease in any electrical store or supermarket (and obviously online)?
I wouldn't want to purchase an item of higher-end camera equipment without having tried it first - in fact, it's useful to be able to compare items if you're trying to narrow a choice down. I know you've got the DSR, but (semi-)pro camera equipment is heavy, so return postage is going to be expensive if it doesn't "gel" with you...

Plus, when was the last time you saw a Nikon D4 or Canon 1DX (both about £5,000) on sale outside a camera specialist (whether they're a real shop or mail order)? ;)

    Hi,

I think it will either be Cewe Color or an external operator. The legacy scanning was a new thing for Jessops and as with many things in recent years will have been sourced by price rather than quality ... where as IC Video always provided quality

  • Jessops Photo Legacy service was supported by one of the UK's main image digitisation services, SAVE PHOTO LTD.Their Customer Service Number is 01926-810604 or try their consumer web site photo legacy.com

They have given CeWe a commitment to honour all Jessops customer orders and I believe that their Online Legacy service stores and protects a copy of all images that they process and scan....including Jessops Photo Legacy customers

    Hope this helps

  • I notice that Jessops website is up and running again. Does anyone know if Gift Vouchers are being accepted?
