Retail accounts for a very large proportion of employment and as such the past administrations as well as this one is making the jobs market a whole lot worse i feel so sorry for the staff

Some would argue too large - hence why there are so many stores going into administration! I'm not surprised Jessops have gone - is there really any need for a dedicated national camera retailer when you can buy them with ease in any electrical store or supermarket (and obviously online)?

And though it's of course awful for the staff, I can't see this making the jobs market "a whole lot worse". Employment numbers come in millions, a thousand or so losing their jobs won't make a significant difference to the stats.

Anyone with double up tesco clubcard vouchers for Jessops ( like me - £300 worth!) can have them refunded in full to their clubcard account - need to contact tesco clubcard and let them know and I guess they will tell you where to send them

I purchased a digital SLR camera from Jessops in July last year. I'm paying it off on credit.

Do I still need to continue the payments? :p
  • Any advice please??

On Sunday I walked into Jessops and purchased a Panasonic Lumix camera. After saving really hard for a year and a half, I had managed to save enough for my dream camera. Having researched extensively and waited for the sales, I made the decision to order online from Jessops and collect in-store, as they matched the cheapest price online and I thought it would be good to buy from a specialist camera shop.

I thought the collection from Jessops went smoothly (although I was a little distracted due to running slightly late for an appointment later on). It wasn't until I got home that I realised rather than charge me their 'exclusive order online' price, they had charged me their in-store price, which is significantly higher. I have emails that prove I ordered online at the online price, so have been trying to ring them to sort it out but only got through to a very unhelpful customer services person who told me to go back to the store.

Will they still honour the online price that I have proof that I ordered it at? And the 3-year care plan that I also purchased (paperwork says it's provided by warranty specialist Domestic & General) - will that still be valid?

    Any thoughts....?
