It's good to hear that Boo does have a home.
    Is he definitely a Bengal?

Does anyone else find this truly shocking?
We took her to the vets in December, they scanned her, she's not chipped and gave her a quick look over, treated her for fleas and worms and told me to try putting posters up.
Well Boo is home, he has a microchip and an owner who lives behind us.

How can a vet make that mistake?

That might have meant the difference between somebody finding out what had happened to their missing cat or not if it had been injured or killed.
  • It wasn't a vet that checked him it was a student vet nurse (she was supervised though), she just looked at the two holes below the tail. When I looked at him and realised he was male I'm sure it was more underneath than just below the tail but to be fair he wasn't impressed about being dangled so I could look more closely. I've rang them this morning and they were very appologetic and will "repremand" (their words, not sure what they mean) the student nurse (although she's only their temporarily). They also offered a free health check for our cats, I told them that we've moved vets (which they should know because the new vets contacted them for Salems history). They also said that sometimes it's hard for the inexperienced to tell the difference, now I had no idea how to tell because I've never actually searched for my cats bits but surely with a little training you could tell the difference. As for the microchip they said it must have moved, I asked OH where they scanned for the chip his reply "I wasn't paying attention but it took a couple of goes to find it".

I'd never had any problems with the vets whilst Salem was there and only moved as Gizmo was registered at a vets that was closer and open all weekend which is more suitable due to working fulltime.
