i take it that the email photos you were given by the paper replie wasnt him/her.0 -
No, she had a scar above her left eye plus it turns out she is a he. Embarrassing when a 10 year old asks "are you sure she's a girl cos I saw this red thing!". To be fair the girl that checked him over was a student and I wouldn't have had a clue how you'd tell a neutered male from a female cat... Obviously I do now though. So I'm ringing the vets tomorrow to take him back, I want his ears checking as they are filthy inside whilst we're there.0

Well Boo is home, he has a microchip and an owner who lives behind us. She was glad to have him back and said he's a nightmare for pulling the I'm homeless act. Apparently the people who used to live here fed him which is why he kept coming back. I've said that I'll stop feeding and letting him in and she was so apologetic for him 'bothering' us. I'm glad he's home and glad he has a family. I am now considering getting a third cat though but that wouldn't be until after summer. Thanks for all your help
*Edit* Predictive text changed home to hope and glad to hoot0 -
That's great news - a happy ending for Hope and looks like a rescue cat might get a home out of it too, win win!

A bit of a worry that the first vets a) couldn't tell the difference between a neutered male and a female and b) couldn't find the microchip. Don't think I'd take any animals there through choice if I were you!0 -
We've actually changed vets recently as our second cat was registered to a vets closer to home that was also open Saturday and Sundays which suited us better. if we hadnt of changed before we would have done now. I'll be ringing them tomorrow to let them know what has happened.
Both our cats are rescue cats, black DSH, I never realised until after we'd got Salem last June how hard they were to rehome. We got our second cat after we moved and Boo started calling. Salem used to sit looking sad at the back door like he was waiting for him so we decided to get a play mate. I think if we did get a third I would like a black and white cat, only because when we take photos of the two together they just blend in together.0 -
I am so sorry hun - but at least he does have a home!
I would change vets though if I were you!0 -
I feel for you, but at least Boo wasn't lost

It's strange, I thought I'd be more upset than I am, I guess I'm more happy he has a home. I definitely think that when I retire (a long way off yet but it doesn't hurt to plan) I'll be getting a bengal. His owner said he urinates when left alone and he bullies her other cats hence he goes out.
Definitely has made me think that there could be room for one more kitty....if I can twist OH arm
