What breed of cat/colouring or markings does this little lady have

We currently have a stary cat coming to our house for food and attention. I have posted posters around the area (local shops, pub etc) and have put RSPCA paper collars on her to try and find out if she has a home. Tonight I'm going to pick up a proper collar for her and put my details on that but I have decided that I'm going to put an lost ad in the local newspaper too. As I won't be paying for a photo I'll obvioulsy have to be as descriptive as possible but I have no idea about what breed, colouration or markings. I've always put a picture on the posters so didn't need to describe her colouring/markings.

There's a few more pictures here if needed

I want to try and do as much as possible to make sure she has a family before we decide what to do next. I want to keep her, she's so affectionate and beautiful, OH thinks we should have her rehomed by someone else.
TIA

Awwww what a wee beauty! She looks to have a healthy dose of Bengal in her! The danger is if you advertise a ' found' cat as having pedigree in them you will get chancers trying to claim her. There are Bengal rescue pages that sometimes advertise lost cats you could try seeing if anyone has already advertised her as missing around your area on these sites. Have you taken her to a vets or rescue to see if she is microchipped?:rotfl:If it weren't for stress I'd have no energy at all. First rule of acting: Whatever happens, look as if it were intended.;)
Don't follow in my footsteps, I walk into walls:smileyhea When in doubt .............mumble.
I may look busy, but I'm just confused.:T I smile because i have no idea what's going on.:rotfl:0 -
From my very limited! knowledge she looks a bit like a Bengal or a Bengal cross?"Things can only get better.................c/o D:Ream #The 90's

We took her to the vets in December, they scanned her, she's not chipped and gave her a quick look over, treated her for fleas and worms and told me to try putting posters up. Thinking about it now I should have asked them what breed they thought she was when I took her in.
I originally thought Bengal when I googled her markings but then thought why would anyone not chip and abandon a bengal as they're an expensive breed.0 -

I think also mentioning her bright blue eyes may help an owner identify her from an in-paper description.
Good luck in trying to find the owner. I "adopted" a stray (well he adopted us after following our then kitten home) and the general concensous at the time was he'd been left behind when someone had done a moonlight flit to avoid goodness knows who. We still have him 8years later

Oh she's very beautiful and I would second the other forum members that she definitely looks either to be a bengali or a bengali cross.
If you are going to advertise her as 'found' in a local newspaper or similar, I would not mention her blue eyes or if she has some other distinctive marking as like ohmochraich says, you might get chancers trying to claim her. That way you could ask anyone responding to your ad asking them to describe any special markings/details about her (or bring a picture).
Good luck!0 -

Thanks for all the replies.
I have bought a safety release collar and a identity tube which I have put the following note in “This cat has been visiting our home, please call this number xxxxxx so we know she has a family”. I’ll leave it a few days to see if someone replies.
I will join the forum you suggested patchwork cat at lunch.
The posts about people claiming her if she isn’t theirs has worried me a little, I think on the one hand she’s not ours anyway but I want whoever takes her to give her the loving home she deserves.
I replied to two lost pet posts on national pet register which had missing Bengal posts (dated march and October last year) but one Bengal was found and the second was white.
I’m going to try and put together an ad which would give the owner of her enough clues to phone up and ask if it’s her but not enough for someone to realise her breed and claim her wrongfully. I will also ask for a photo to make sure she is theirs should anyone reply. Besides this I can’t think of much more to do for her, I’d love to keep her myself (and possibly will if no one replies) but I want to be sure I have done everything possible to get her back to her family. She’s adorable and absolutely loves affection and has started coming more frequently just for a stroke (we offer her food but she just jumps up and nudges your hand for a stroke). If we didn’t have our two house cats I’d have her in a heartbeat.
Blueybug she has the peronality that matches her beauty, I want to keep her but I feel it's wrong when she may have a family looking for her.0 -
+1 on the Bengal. I had a boy that looked exactly like that and ran away after a visit to the vets that didn't go too well. (never using that Vet again). We have another one now. Lovely breed!0
