I hadn't thought about advertising nationally, I never thought cats would roam that far but I shall give it a go. I hadn't considered gumtree either so will give that a go too.

Thank you for the advise re the colouring.
  • key to success in mingling your cat and her would be to keep them appart for now, she knows she is in male territory and him sniffing her and her hissing back is natural reaction, just let her be in the utility room for now, and when she is out let salem sniff in the room. and so on till he knows her scent and she gets to know his, then itll be a calmer situation for her when the do eventually mingle.
  • Have you contacted local rescues in your area to see if they are aware of a missing cat matching her description?

You can find a list of shelters by area here http://www.catchat.org/adoption/index.html
  • This isn't local to you, but unfortunately cats do get stolen and end up miles from home, so pls have a look

    Just a story for you.

My friend had a bengal who visited her constantly, she belonged to some people over the road but they left her to wander all day. For over 10 years she stayed with my friend day and night, even to the extent that when they went on holiday they used to put the cat into a cattery as they were worried how she would cope if they were away.

When my friend moved she went to the house the now elderly cat came from and said they were moving and were worried about said cat. The owner was disinterested so they catnapped her to the new home.:o

I think a cat will choose their owner. And as it has been said, any cat owner worth their salt will get their animal chipped.

I know what she did was wrong but really she is now quite an elderly cat with a kidney condition who has to eat a certain food, she really loves her hence the vet bill each month!
But if ever I stray from the path I follow
Take me down to the English Channel
Throw me in where the water is shallow And then drag me on back to shore!
'Cos love is free and life is cheap As long as I've got me a place to sleep
Clothes on my back and some food to eat I can't ask for anything more

She is a blue-eyed, snow spotted Bengal, she is almost the twin of our Lula :)

Here's a photo from our FB page https://www.facebook.com/BengalCatWorld where you can see more photos of her & her brother Spot if you wish!

I meant to say also, we have over 12,600 fans on our page, so if you want me to post something to help in finding her home, I would be more than happy to do so - just let me know :)
  • Hi, thanks for the replies. Blossomhill our cat has been hanging around since June/July time last year according to the neighbours. I have had a reply to a post in a local newspaper and they are sending me some pictures via email today.

I kind of have mixed feelings, I'm hoping that I have found her family and she can go home but at the same time I know I am going to miss her as I have grown quite attached to her. If they are not her family then I'm off to the vets this wekend as it looks like she may have ear mites. We have changed vets just before christmas and our new vet has said they will help to find her family also but only for 3 weeks.

Yes please Fridaycat, I have replaced the posters where I live so they don't have a photo on it now as some people said there is a possibility someone may realise her breed and wrongly claim her. I really want her to go back to her family if they are still out there. I've posted an found add on national pet register too.

It's coming to the point where I can't see what much more I can do.

Just let me know what you want me to post and if you want me to include a picture or not, and I shall do it! :)
  • Hi fridaycat, just found out that kitty is actually a boy so I'm going to take him back to the vets to be scanned again. Thinking that since they got his sex wrong they could have missed his chip. I shall update over the weekend with what happens. If he's definately not chipped I'll write a post for your fb page
