Caught my OH this morning washing out the vacuum cleaner!!!!!!!! is that about.................perfect excuse not to use it today though. Dont panic we have a H*nry ( bought in 1986 - they dont make 'em like they use to:D) so it was the base and nylon filter that was getting a wash and nothing electrical:rotfl:

Today is one of those quirky number days - consecutive odd numbers
09.11.13 Apparently not due round again for eons...........it was suggested that today we do something 'odd' in its honour - so I am giving the house an Autumn Clean :) Most odd for me ;)

I thought washing curtains was odd, but washing a vacuum cleaner!!!

I've had to clean today, bought stuff in the amazon sale and have to make room for it!

Yes, won't happen again for over 90 years. Though it is the 5th time it has happened in the last 9 years.

What won't happen again for 90 years? The cleaning or the consecutive date thingy? :rotfl:

I cannot tell you how much I love this thread. As the daughter of a woman who makes the flyladies look slovenly, I'm constantly looking for shortcuts and cheats to a presentable home.

My best tip? Move house. The thought of packing up all that junk when I moved two years ago made me feel so ill that I hired a skip and chucked most of it out. My new house was spotless for AGES because I barely owned anything... :rotfl:

Two years later and...erm...well, just don't drop round unexpectedly will you?

Someone once told me to dampen a cotton wool pad with Zoflora and stick it down the back of the radiator. For a whole week the house smelled of fresh washed linen! Fantastic I thought! But now, 3 months later, I'm beginning to suspect that that cotton wool pad is the reason why it smells like something has died in my hall.....

    Great thread!!

Totally agree with the Benny Hill theme, me and my OH used to go around the house cleaning "comedy style" every so often theatrically bumping into each other with jazz-hand shock to keep 5 minute cleaning bursts fun!

    :rotfl:Love it!

OH says he wants to get the house a bit tidier for Christmas. You can guess what my respinse was.
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.

Opened the curtains, shouldn't have done that, too much dust behind them, will have to keep them closed again!
