don't have laser eye procedure, then you won't notice how mucky the house is or how old you look (before I had mine done, I thought I looked OK for my age - I was wrong!)

This is my spiritual home. My idea of dusting is to not move things so you can't see clean spots.

But, horror of horrors, I actually had to do cleaning yesterday. I am trying to sell my flat, and apparently buyers like the idea of a 'tidy' place. After loading the dishwasher (I'll put it on later), loading the washing machine (ditto), scrubbing the bathroom, hoovering, tidying up and generally filling wardrobes until the place looked like a show home, I sat down at midnight, having put everything away. I noticed I had missed a spot.

My flatmate stared at me blankly while I removed my socks and dusted the TV unit with them. What did I do wrong? I put them into the washing machine afterwards....

    Pfft.
Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....

Got kids? At least get them to wash up their own knife/fork/spoon/plate/bowl. Less for you to wash.
Oh, come on. It is much, much easier to wash something up yourself than to encourage/entice/pester/force your children to do it.
If you're after an easy life, in the here and now at least, get the children to bed then do it yourself.

Count me in on this one!

My windows and patio doors (two sets ) are currently covered in snowflake stickers which will stay up until at least the end of the month - they'll all fall off if I try to clean the glass, so that job will just have to wait until the stickers come down. ;)

You forgot using the space under and behind the sofa as temporary storage in emergency situations ie when you haven't got time/space to put those magazines away when someone is knocking on your door :D

I've currently got a bag of empty glass jars behind my sofa, waiting for their trip to the recycling bin - I moved them from their usual space under the boiler in the kitchen as they got in the way of the engineer doing the boiler's annual safety check; it may be a while longer before they go on the next step of their journey, into the car, where they can then stay until I get fed up with the clinking and finally take them to the recycling bin!
Back after a very long break!

Ironing....I wait until my sister is visiting and then drag out the iron and ironing board and the ironing of course. She absolutely loves ironing and I always have plenty for her....

Did anyone else not clean a bathroom or toilet over the holiday period?

We didn't put any up so I can be sure that there's nothing left to take down for this year. OH did put one of those sticky-wrapping-type bows on one of the pictures in the living room last year and we forgot to take that down. So it might still be there! Is it wrong that I no longer notice? :rotfl:
