i had a friend who's idea of cleaning the walls and paintwork was to get her husband to decorate. Poor sod had to decorate every 12 months or so until he got peed off with her sloblady habits and ditched her.

Which leads onto another tip.... IF YOU CANT STAND YOUR MAN - TURN INTO A SLOBLADY!

Did anyone else not clean a bathroom or toilet over the holiday period?

I still haven't, and the children have been back at school for three days now! It's on the list for tomorrow, but it's been on the list since Monday and keeps getting moved back...

My oven needs cleaning. I am just about to buy a new one.

I did this just before christmas but my son wanted my old oven so I had to clean it anyway.

I tend to clean the bathroom when stressed, and to the level of stress incurred, to the point where my flatmate gives me a silent hug and makes me a cuppa if he spots that the shower curtain has been washed.

I've always believed that everything finds its natural place in the world. People reach their capabilities (sometimes with bumps along the way), animals find the right habitat, stuff finds the right surface to rest upon. Sometimes it's a bookcase, sometimes it's a floor. Who am I to argue with nature?

I didn't put any decorations up. Tinsel creates little lines in the dust on the picture frames and you have to wipe them all down afterwards.
Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....

Ours has been in the middle of the floor since boxing day when I came over all peculiar and went to do some vacuuming so OH made me sit down with a glass of wine. Much better idea. :D

If it's still there next Christmas I'll deck it with tinsel and lights.

Hubby borrowed a weight lifting machine approximately 4 years ago, he'll use if every day dontcha know :D, every year, I dangle a sparkly star and a bit of tinsel from it.

The other 11 months, I hang the knicker drier (you know, the dangly thing with pegs on) on it, just to prove a point.

Admit it : who still has at least one Christmas decoration still up? ;)

I do - that fake snow spray stuff, stencilled to say 'Happy Christmas' on a high up window from about 4 years ago...

In my defence, I cleaned it off the kitchen window the same year I used it, and it was a real burgger to get off, so the thought of scraping and scrubbing while perched on a precarious folding chair put me off!
    Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!
