Zoflora is my friend...a pungent disinfectant (particularly love the Flowershop flavoured one, smells of fresh green cut stems); only needs 12 squares of the tiles wiped, ie one quick arm movememnt, to fill the kitchen with "clean smells".
Wow! Thats a lot of effort! I leave a pail of hot water filled with Zoflora by the kitchen door. The whole downstairs looks clean then0 -
A what in your hand? The name rings a bell, but I'm pretty sure I don't own one of those, whatever it is... :rotfl:
I have to admit that I don't move any furniture heavier than a kitchen chair to hoover. When the furniture is moved for some other reason, that's the time to clean under and behind it - unless you know something really nasty has fallen behind it and will fester if not cleaned up.
I have been known to throw some bleach round the loo and wipe the basin taps just before visitors arrive.
I have posh, but wierdly herbal smelling handwash which was a present, that I swap out with the old bottle filled with anything soapy when visitors are coming so they use up the posh looking handwash that I don't like! When it eventually gets finished, I'll throw out the old bottle and start re-filling the posh one!
Does anyone else dump excess clutter into another room and just close the door? That works until I want to let the visitors into the room to meet my ferrets...
I don't own a duster either:D Although,ds occasionally uses a cloth to do his version of dusting to earn a little money he thinks he can buy everything in the world with:rotfl: And,naturally the tv,electrical items I'll wipe over (kitchen roll anyone:o)
Instead,I use my hoover (or broom which I use more often on the hard floors- stuff carrying my heavy hoover up and down the stairs regularly:eek:...that may have to change when I do up the hall and stairs and lay carpet on them though *sobs* - been here a couple of months and ripped everything out lol) when I'm doing the floors.Either pull the hose out and use that or brush the furniture:o:o:o:rotfl:
The same applies to skirting boards- they always look clean. Who on earth are these weirdos that get down on their hands and knees to wipe them?:eek:If women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -
Just what i needed! you've made me roll laughing (in the bits still in the carpet from last week because I can't be arsed to hoover up) thank god its not just me that cant see the point in cleaning up! lol lol lol...have subscribed to thread:TWorking hard to to pay off the mortgage within 5 years instead of 9 by considering every penny spent. Squirt polish onto floor.
Encourage kids to 'skate' in old socks.
Throw away socks and praise kids for the polished floor.I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
Keep a horse or two (but not in the house). You will then always be much too knackered to do anything houseworkish, but you will have lots of fun with your clean, shiny horse, in its spotless stable, wearing its freshly laundered rug ..... lol0

My oven needs cleaning. I am just about to buy a new one.0

DS (20 months) is a flat crawler and I was only joking the other day that I should pin a duster to the front of his jumper and hire him out to the village hall to polish the floor!!!0

I bought a can of furniture polish in 1979, and got another in 1987 (only because it came free with something)
I haven't opened the second because the first is still going strong. :rotfl:0
