I love this thread! I belong here - already it has taught me some wonderful home maintenance tips (I was thinking about cleaning the cooker.

OH and I got rid of the floordrobe a few days ago - but you will be pleased to know it is coming back. Trouble is LO (20 months) has learned the word 'mess' and knows when to use it...

    Xmas Saver!
    My tip is buy white.

We have white towels, white bedding, white furniture, white dinner service. Everything can be washed / cleaned in one day.
    Leaving 6 days free. :D

You don't have to split washing into whites, darks, mids and lights, you just throw them all in to wash together and no worries about colours running and saves time.

DD2 announced about an hour ago it was her turn to make cakes to take to school tomorrow for her friends to scoff ( teenage girls dont you just love 'em!) She wanted to make James Martin lemon drizzle muffins which requires 4 lemons..................I had 2 large ones in the fruit bowl and 2 in the compost bin..................Oh yes she got her 4 lemons. Ones in compost bin I had used last week for zest only and was intending to squeeze and freeze the juice ( sometimes my inner domestic godess can be unleashed) but didnt get round to it and they were looking a bit pathetic in fridge, zestless and unloved.......so I chucked them in the compost bin yesterday:)

Fished them out from under the grass clippings no problem - still plenty of juice in them too:rotfl:

Slow cooked lamb, cooked in a roasting bag with some gravy mix and water, in the crock pot I used yesrerday for chicken and chorizio casseole which got a bit burned. Two problems solved, its all in the dishwasher now and coming nice and clean...
