Judi my love, a knife and fork usually comes with dinner (unless, like me you eat some things with a spoon straight from the pot!)

So husband looks at unpeeled spuds, takes fork, sticks into cooked spud, gets knife, peels off skin, which is easy when spuds are hot.

Places skins elsewhere, eats peeled spuds. Voila. We do have to make our men self sufficient somehow!

Just discovered this thread!! its amazing.

I was given an iron when I moved out in april.... it has been used once - to remove candle wax from the carpet.

I always use my hair straighteners to smooth out shirt collars for work!

    You are a GENIUS!!!

My ironing board is propped up against the back door at night serving as a burglar alarm. It has no other purpose in this house.

Hmm. I have to wear kind of suitable clothes for work. Hated ironing the work shirts that go under the jacket.

So I moved to those tops that do not require ironing. Viscose or something, can get some really nice ones now.

Trousers the same, when washed and damp, carefully line up the crease in the legs and over the radiator.

I actually scrunch everything I buy to check for its creasability. If there's a hint of a crease when I discreetly scrunch garment in the shop, it is not bought.

Same here. Firstly I look for style, then colour and then finally whether it will need ironing.:o
