Hi Turfy, hugs from me too. All the stress of things going quiet and no work takes its toll on everyone. Just some people can't cope as well as others. Mr P did the same a year or so ago. I guess it is their way of trying to cope or blot it out.

I am pleased your DH took your ultimatum seriously and has made changes.

Thanks so much for your thoughts. I know things will improve and hopefully we are now on a more even keel. I just felt things slipping away from me and had to give the ultimatum for my own sanity and also that of the kids who really dont need that in their life.
Onwards and upwards, polytunnel is doing good thanks Lu although it has been a bit neglected, not sure my sweetcorn is going to be any good but have had a good supply of onions and peas and Im still getting loads of cherry toms which are yummy and dont often make the walk from the polytunnel to the kitchen Thanks again for the virtual hugs much appreciated.:)

Hi peeps had a busy couple of weeks, we had a friends hubby staying (someone else going through a tough time) it went ok and we kept him busy and he seemed to enjoy himself. He became a help for OH and got to go fishing. On the other level things are really good and OH has more work, probably downt to the fact that he's out and about and just being seen around seems to promote more work. All good, our friends who went to Oz a couple of years ago had some bad news and his father died so hes been home for a few days, we went to the funeral yesterday very sad but lovely even so, hes been suffering with parkinsons for a long while. So I agreed MrT could have a couple of drinks with his buddy and to be fair it was only a couple of drinks. So all good there and work has improved so he's much happier and I have to say not even missing the pints.:T DD has settled in college just wish the grant people would get their fingers out and sort out what she is entitled to and when. Raining here today but warm have lit the stove to dry so clothes (Im a poet and didnt know it) Hope youre all ok out there.

Not a bad weekend. DD was home and we put her back on the bus last night. Its going ok with her working on a Saturday now as we all get a lie in on Sunday now:T Her first lecture on a Monday is 4pm so she does get a break and a lie in on Monday too lucky thing. Our friend who is over because his dad passed away is coming for tea tonight and they will all be little boys again playing on the Wii so that should be fun. Especially with the two real younger ones. Weather looks set to improve for the next 10 days to so fingers crossed.

Feels ages since I was on here. Things going ok, DD doing ok in college and seems to have settled in. Shes joining drama groups and radio stations etc which is right up her street. Shes home friday and its bank holiday monday here so she wont be going back til monday night, miss her really even though I dont miss the mess or stressed out mornings!! We still have car trouble, this time its an injector issue_pale_ havent got a clue, its been on the computer etc etc and new washers put, then computer says everything is ok. two days later its gone back into safe mode??? Anyway we did go to look at another car mainly for me to use that is road legal, very cheap and cheerful but at least we would have a second car on the road, just waiting to hear when things will be done on that so we can get it sorted.
On a personal level things going ok, still no drinking apart from when his mate was over, but that was allowed. So all good and today the sun has made a very welcome appearance after 3 days of rain.:j

Glad things are improving. Hope you have a lovely time with DD. Just had to get a new bulb for my car and asked mechanic to check the fog lights at the back as one wasn't working. Only to be told it only has one!!! LOl.

It seems we still have trouble with the car. The computer is now saying one of the injectors is trouble. So next week half term the plan is to get the two cars we have up on the land to the scrap and get a few quid for them and then sort out a second car. Weve seen one that needs an nct but the fail list had very little on it and it would only cost us €500 our mechanic knows the guy so the car should be good. If it only lasted us 12 months until we could save a bit for a better one that would see us through whilst we get the main car sorted, cant afford to not get it done IYKWIM.
Sun is trying to come out, the weather was so carpy last night wind rain etc but still very warm so no heating on just yet, save a bit more for the oil!!!

DD was home for the weekend but not herself, Got to the bottom of it eventually, she said she was worried about coming home if DH hadnt been behaving himself drinkwise. We assured her everything was still going Aok and thought wed sorted it, re the bf had been very quiet so we thought they had finished or just had a spat, but it turns out hes been unwell for about a month or so and has had some tests for cancer on a lump on his neck. He wouldnt tell her much probably doesnt want to worry her her being the other side of the country at college etc etc. Anyway they had long talk and he's told her he will know more around the 6th Nov. Were all hoping for good news but he's lost a lot of weight and really is skinny anyway so I dont know what to think and tbh am trying not to look into it too far.
Otherwise ok DS1 has gone swimming with his girlfriend and DS2 is watching tv so Im off to get some cleaning done.
