OK, made a start on the bathroom. I've noticed increasingly that below the water level the toilet looks mucky/browny colour even when it's just been flushed which I presume is limescale. To be honest though DS or even DH will get up in the night, have a pee and not pull the flush and I wonder whether if there's any scratches on the toilet it's sort of soaking in. Sorry, this is really embarrassing but I want to get it looking clean and I've been scrubbing away to no avail. I know we have limescale under the rims of the toilets for a fact.
Is there anything you can get to remove all the discolouration/limescale as it always looks dirty even when it's not. I do clean the toilets every week honest and even sometimes give them a wipe over when they don't even need it!

:coffee: break
Please help yourselves!
So far I have
- sorted the airing cupboard
- sorted 2 more cupboards
- opened the eaves storage and found DH's empty plastic crates and my 2 old suitcases full of fabric: now I'll have to sort that as most of it will need to be flung or sent to CS
- found boxes and boxes of buttons to sort this evening
- sorted a big kitchen cupboard and flung half a dozen plastic water bottles, plus found other things to go on eB@y
- washed up marmalade pan and other bits
- emptied bins
Doesn't look much, does it! - but I don't work at skintbreeder speed
I'm pleased at how much space I've made in the storage cupboards, and I have two almost empty chests of drawers, so when we eventually move we shall have spaces to store things that are currently in built-in units.
I have decided that my study is my Room of Doom now. There's just so much stuff that I can't throw away - in particular, loads of paperwork from when I was self-employed, as it's still within the 7 year HMRC limit for inspections.
2 robins are desperately trying to draw my attention to the fact that their mealworm feeder is empty. The Magnificent Five squirrels (where are the other two?) are doing their usual trick of emptying the bird feeders and scoffing all the fat blocks, though a flock of 8 long-tailed tits did land briefly on them at first light this morning.
Well done, Elle, for all you've achieved. Yes, it's scary - but you are in control. Have a lovely time with your mum and her OH tomorrow
Will be thinking of you too tomorrow, bossymoo. The black jeans sound just perfect.
Mumof2, try cheap cola left in the toilet bowl overnight. Alternatively Calg0n, Killr0ck or similar. Don't mix them with other cleaners, though, or you might get poisonous fumes given off (not a joke).
20 minute break over - back to work!0 -

Hi all
Lunchtime catch up. Sorry to hear some of you are having relationship problems. Hugs to you all. I know how tough it can be as I was divorced 5 years ago with a three year old. Quite scary to be suddenly on my own again with the soul responsibility of a young child and I moved back to Scotland to be near my family. Five years on I am remarried with an 18 month old, and the 4 of us are really happy. Hope it all works out for you.

One way. Rubber gloves. Use a small plastic cup, bottle and scoop out as much water as possible (keep cup for future use of this activity only). Use an old sponge, towel to soak up remaining water. Fill the bowel with a bottle of cheap vinegar. Leave for as long as possible. Scrub with a brush once the limescale has broken down. flush. You can use coke too I hink but I've never done this hthThe birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
I think, while the Sloblady thread is quite funny, the OP has missed the whole point of Flylady.optimistic-mummy wrote: »
i have decided tomorrow is going to be my first day smoke free .... that's right im attempting to quit smoking .... support is very much welcomed :rotfl: im gonna need it
What I did was to save up what I'd have spent on cigarettes, and when I was happy that I was in the clear, and wouldn't be likely to lapse (a surprisingly short time - the fact that Mr LW doesn't smoke helped) I used the money to purchase a very beautiful (and very large!) pewter and crystal Dragon.:oGoodintentions wrote: »I think the bottom has just fallen out of my world:(
Mumof2 if the brown staining is really bad, scoop out all the water, getting the last with a cloth, give it a good going over with Ast0nish limescale remover for a swift result, and having done this to start with to get the bad staining off, what I now do to keep it from returning is to use the vinegar from jars of pickled onions (we go through at least a jar a week); that seems to work.
No Flying today; Mr LW is wfh. Also, we've had the plumbers in again; the immersion heater, which packed up the day after the boiler died, has now been replaced, and they're coming back later to fit a new shower, as the old one is leaking badly and is pretty much beyond hope of repair - we figured even if they fix it now, it will at best be temporary, and we'll need to replace it a few months down the line, so more sense to bite the bullet money-wise and replace it now. They're picking the new unit up this afternoon and returning after 15:00 to fit it.
However, I've not been idle; lasagne has been made; half has been eaten, the other half is for us to just nuke'n'eat tomorrow (Mr LW will be late home tomorrow); also I've made sultana and cinnamon buns for his lunch box.:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

Had a lovely walk with Pip though she's no longer the clean little white Jack Russell Terrier I set off with! Went onto Maymywalk and logged the walk - did 3.25 miles in just over an hour so not bad. Want to try to walk as much as I can - DH said I'm looking plumper
. I don't think I'm bad - 5 foot 9, weigh 10'5(ish), had 2 kids and am soon going to be 46 but I don't like feeling unfit.
Cup of tea next methinks and just got a typing job come in which I'll rattle off quickly as got another 2 coming tonight.
By the way, thanks for advice re loo, much appreciated.Flymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0 -
