Hi everyone,
Hope you are all well and having a good day. My two eldest children have gone back to school today. They were actually quite excited about going back which makes a change! I feel really guilty because I have had the flu all over Christmas, so we did not get to do a lot of the things we had planned. They were really patient - bless them. I really miss them when they go back after the holidays. My youngest loves it, because he gets Mummy to himself for a few hours each day!!! I like to be on top of things when they go back to school, but what with having the flu, I feel like I am behind with everything. I have got quite a bit of paperwork that has to be done asap, so I am going to focus on that today, and get it all done and dusted.
My youngest decided it was fun to decorate most of his cream carpet with foundation that he had taken from my dressing table, over Christmas. I hired a rug doctor, tried a stain remover for fake tan/make up and even tried a little bleach with no success. Just wondered if anybody had any other ideas? It is quite a big room, so it is going to cost quite a lot to re-carpet it.
gunsandbanjos - my husband and I separated over Christmas. It was my decision too, but I can appreciate how hard it is at the moment, and how it still hurts. It really is a horrible time so I can totally understand how you must be feeling. If you ever want to chat or just have a moan, please pm me. The flyladies have been so kind and supportive, which really helps when you are having a bad day.
ionafan - thanks for your message. I hope you are feeling a lot better. All these bugs and infections going around, seem to linger for ages. I just wanted to say thank you for all your help, support and advice; it really has helped over the past week or so. You are really kind, thank you xxx
Have a good afternoon everyone xxx0 -
Hi all,
Can I please join in?.
I used to do FLyLady years ago and it worked pretty well for me.
I lack any drive to get what I should do done and end up sitting on this forum half the day, and then having a big rush to do everything at the end of the day.

Where did the time go? I fell asleep and completely zonked out. Just sitting here in bed catching up, still feeling eurgh, but I may attempt a bite to eat and a cuppa in a mo.
gunsandbangos - have a {{{HUG}}} - many of us have travelled the path you are on and it is painful for a time, but it won't last forever, I promise. It helped me to think that I was in a dark tunnel, but once I came out of the other side, boy what an adventure awaited! Be ready for yours.
Mumof2 - I cringe when I see people attacking posters, but I've always smiled at the OP responds with a simple putdown "wow, thanks, that was helpful". They say sarcasm is the lowest form of wit, but I actually think it works in "defence" purposes. Don't get mad, get even!
skint - how very dare they upset you!?!? - take my advice above, rise above them and sock it to them sarcastically, deadpan and not angrily (if that's appropriate).
Right, something to eat and then I'll make a start. I'm sure once I get moving, my motivation will follow (well it worked when I used to have a hangover!)
Anyone free at 1pm for a tickle with a fevver duster? Go on, you know you want to!

Afternoon all

Bit late starting today due to an awful nights sleep last night, which ended with me sleeping on the sofa (32 weeks pregnant, not too comfy) as DP has man flu and i have horrible insomnia. Have had a lazy morning.
I've started doing my extra jobs, have stripped bedding and put it on a hot wash and tumble dried/sorted yesterdays washing.

TMD xx
TMD, your kind invitation landed in my inbox just as I sat down to recover from having fevver-dusted all my downstairs rooms
However, while you are flitting, I will take the opportunity to finish hoovering and tidying the study, then empty the Dys0n and wash the filters - which will take me to lunchtime.
I've had a "bitty" morning - a bit of cleaning (actually most of what was on the list), a bit of washing, a bit of tidying, a bit of flinging, and a bit of thinking about the next piece of written work. I think I've made some progress there, although it all has to be typed up at some point very soon. Then when DH gets home from work I need to go and do a big shop, in particular for fresh fruit and veg. My first shop since Christmas! We've also run out of marmalade, so I must get some more sugar and use up the two tins of M@M@de from the back of the bottom shelf of the larder (cheat but good).
The Magnificent Seven (aka Not-So-Secret-Squirrel and family) have been rampaging in our garden this morning, but they can't get to the mealworm feeder and Mr Robin has been making the most of the opportunity to stock up there. Blackbirds and tits have to wait their turn at the other feeders until a gap in squirrel activity. Woodpeckers also wait patiently until TM7 have gone off for their post-prandial nap.
I might just join TM7 after lunch :rotfl:
Elle, good to know that you are coping. My advice with the carpet would be to let DS colour it all, if that works out cheaper! Otherwise you might need a professional carpet cleaner person (they aren't particularly expensive) who uses stronger chemicals than supplied with the rug doctor
LW, definitely leave the big dragons to MrLW - you don't want them burning your carpet.0
