The booster aspect is irrelevant. With digital you cannot improve the picture quality by increasing signal strength. If the signal deteriorates, for either SD or HD, it will drop below the threshold for watchable full picture/sound to unwatchable picture/sound breakup (blocking, pixelation, freezinf, sparklies). Once the signal is enough to go above the threshold for full picture/sound (ie. watchable) it will never get any better and is limited by the quality of your TV's display (and SD upscaling).

Thanks TOG, before I do, I will let my No2 son, try it on his, as I bought him same tv, and he says his pic isn,t as good as mine, BUT, he aint got outdoor aerial.
If it doesn,t improve his, I may send it back,I,m only 8 mile from Emley Moor mast, can see it at night.Pity they didaway with test card, that,s best to compare, as pics always changing on Tv

It's not possible to improve the picture just by using a different aerial/installation - it'll either be fully watchable or unbearable.

you don't get ghosting, snow and interference on digital TV - it'll either work or be crap; no inbetween.
