It is not as large as I imagined, the hose cleverly exits from the side of the machine so you can position it flat against a wall.

MRJ600 (or anyone else who has one) - would you be able to post the dimensions of the Mistral EUAC1200? I've been googling but can't find them. This looks a good unit but I don't want anything too big.

    Many thanks

Right, just want to add my review.

I've had the Mistral 12000BTU from 24Electric since the OP started this thread. typical with the weather.....poo'd, poo'd and poo'd for the last few weeks!

Anyho, I did use it a couple of nights before the weather turned.

My room is about 14X13 with high ceiling. I switched the a/c on an hour before. It can go as low as 15C but I thought 18 is comfortable enough. You'll see the digits on the display decreasing.

The machine is quite heavy but has wheels so you can push it around but lifting it upstair for example would require some muscle.

The noise is a bit of a problem for me at the moment. I knew it was going to be loud before I bought it so it wasn't a shock. But becasue my bed is right next to the only window, leaving it on is out of the question. The vent is a bit short and I am trying to figure out a way to extend it so the machine can be further away and possibly I could leave it on 'sleep' and keep the room cool the whole night. Any suggestions?

With regard to the vent/window, it's quite easy with Shah windows. You know those plastic cover you get from dry cleaning? I first rest the vent in between the window and the window frame. Close the window as tight to the vent and make sure it stays there. Then I selotaped the plastic thing to cover the rest of the gap. You don't even have to untape when you need to shut the window. All you need to do is take the vent out and close the window. Bin liner would work I am sure.

    Hope this helps.

I have currently adapted my unit and it is currently pumping 500 gallons a minute of rainwater from the back of my garage , the dehumidifying function really is superb !
  • Boy this is a long hot dry summer, my aircon unit is really working overtime at the moment, so glad I bought one before the rush. ;)

Mine too. It's been used so much in the bedroom that my wife has started using it to store clothes on top.
