If it cools then it must heat, one cannot work without the other, set it to the heat function, the display will show the current temp, adjust it up wait the three mins for the compressor to start, hot air comes out the front, old air out of the tube.

    Hi there,

Am I the only one who thinks that the instructions for the Eurolec 12000 are very poor? Or am I just thick? :D:confused:

When I put mine on cooling, nothing seems to come out of the vent pipe - only when it's on dehumidifying mode.

Is that how it should be? I thought heat should come out of the vent pipe when it's cooling too?

I'm also not too sure what you need the de-hum mode for?

And what is the black tube that is inside the vent pipe for? :o

Sorry to be dim, but I've never had experience of air-con so am a complete novice!

    Thanks for any help! :)

If you're just trying it out then it can be disappointing at first.
However, wait three minutes on cooling and the big fan and compressor start up and the heat come out of the vent pipe.

AFAIK the black pipe is for dribbling the condensation outside. This is instead of a bucket as in some other makes.

    Agreed the instructions are rubbish.

Also got the 24Electric 12000. Cant seem to get my heating function to work. Also, any thoughts on the venting system and a template? Venting via the window is useless because of the window design. Good cooling output though!

    Hey there

When you put it on heat, it wont do anything for about 5 to ten minutes as the coil warms up inside the fan may not even blow. It will take about this length of time before warm air blows. This is to stop cold air... not wat you want when you need heat. So give it this length of time, if still doesnt work then contact manufacturer.

Make sure you have it set at a lower temp than the current room temp otherwise it wont come on, but dont over cool the room set it at a confortable temp. When it kicks in it will take 5 mins for the warm air to come out the hose in cooling mode, this is cos the refridgerant is circulating round take a while to get going. This is why in heat mode it takes 5 mins before its hot air coming out.

TFM makes no mention of the black pipe within the exhaust hose.

I did RTFM 'MrKnowitall 600', but as martint123 correctly says, there is no mention of the black pipe OR what the difference is between de-humidifying and cooling. If I knew the answer I wouldn't have asked the bl33din question would I

Jeez - some people are soooo helpful...

Why did you have to give such an ars3y reply? Just because you have knowledge about air con doesn't mean the rest of us do - I was going to thank you for your previously useful posts on this thread but you can shove em now.

How would you like it if you asked a question on here and then someone insulted you with a nasty reply?. Then again, like I put above - you seem to know it all anyway...

Wow, wrong side of bed, I should have been a little more specific and suggested reading the posts on the thread, all the information you need has already been posted.

Rather than get in a tizzy spend the time constructively reading those previous posts, had you done this rather than been lazy and expected an answer from another member you would not have asked the question. If you don't know what the difference between cooling and dehumidifying is then there's little hope, I fear it is likely to be difficult to explain with upsetting you, cooling is when is makes things cooler, dehumidifying is when it takes some of the water out of the air.

I think I can live without your thanks, it won't keep me awake tonight.

    DRY MODE:

When the unit is on dry mode the compressor is on and the unit is taking moisture out of the air but you dont put the exhaust hose outside, so this in turn dehumidfies the air but doesnt lower the room temperature, much as a small dehumidfier would. u get warm dry air.
