I too am wanting a window kit for the Mistral.
I'm not having much luck contacting Mistral UK. Their customer services number always rings out to an answering machine and even though I've left several messages and emailed them, they have not got back to me with any information.
One of the worst companies i've dealt with for customer service!0 -
Same here - no response to emails0

Just thought I would add this one. Only 8300 BTU's but a good price, especially through Quidco and with a discount/bonus point code.

I have an older (not very effective) portable unit which lists its cooling capacity as 860W. Does anyone know how what this means, and how it compares with the BTU ratings mentioned in this thread?0

Aldi currently have a 9kw portable air con unit at £149.

Two important notes, comes with a venting kit for wall or window AND comes with a 3 year warranty.0 -

I recently saw a modern Argos unit ( cutomer return) and it only had a wattage rating of 820 or 850 watts. On checking the Argos catalogue it said it was 9000 Btu.
( BTW Btu is an old imperial measure still used in this metric age, standing for British Thermal Unit, tradition dies hard)

Had mine for a few days now although the weather has been poo and I've not tried sleeping with it on. At the lowest setting it seems fairly loud but I'll be sure to check back when I try it while sleeping. At Around 50db this is one of the quietest I have seen though so don't let that put you off.
All said and done it seems like a super job for £160 quid and I doubt theres anything that can beat it at the moment. The only problem I have is the venting kit being made for sash/slider type windows. I'm half considering putting a hole in the wall unless I can think of a solution for the more modern windows.
In short its;
Cheap, super small, A energy rated, lower end of noise bracket, look no further for a cheap portable.
