Hi,
last week I picked up my new netbook and set it all up with much help from guys on here ..
However the other night it went kaput...
Now I cannot find my wifi net work - it took me ages to figure out how to connect last time but this time the name of my network hasn't even appeared as an option....
How do I connect please?

Usually either a small slide switch on the front/side of the case, or a combination of the Fn key with one of the F keys at top of the keyboard.
If you need more help, please provide the full model number of the netbook
BTW, what went kaput - the netbook or the wifi? How do I add a signature?0 -
it's an acer aspire one 725...
i don't think it can be that.... I have other wifi options just not my network...
and it was the netbook that went kaput... it wouldn't turn on...

Ah, you didn't mentioned that in your OP.
Any other devices connected and working with the VM modem?
Do you have the VM superhub, with the big Virgin button on the front?
Is this the same (repaired) netbook or a replacement? How do I add a signature?0 -

my pc works with the modem but it is wired in... (the other netbook worked on it, and this one works if I plug it in, it's the wifi signal or something)....
and yes it's the one with the big button...

It's highly likely the Aspire One has an Atheros Wifi adapter. They are notoriously unreliable with the even more dreadful VM "Superhub".
I recently looked at a laptop that would not see a VM Superhub. It turned out if the hub was using channels 12 or 13, the Atheros adapter (even with the latest drivers) would not see it.
If resetting the hub doesn't work, try running inSSIDer on the working PC and it will tell you which channel the Superhub is using. You can manually lock the hub into a particular channel if that is the problem.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards.
