  • Nearly a hundred added onto my total this week!!! The downside to having very little cash last month is that I'm having to replace lots of pantry things this month. Lots of passata, pasta, giant tub of stock powder, herbs and spices and other staples. Big tins of T&L golden syrup in Lidl for €1 this week, so picked up two (even at full price of €1.80 it's cheaper than the value version!). Farm shop this morning for veg, stewing beef and 2 doz duck eggs.

Would love to say that rest of month will just be milk and veg, but not entirely convinced. Picking up a case of WM bread flour on Wed and am running low on quorn chicken. Still hopeful that can hit budget, for now at least :)

Another £20 spent give or take - total is now £63.31

Spends this week were on toiletries, tea club in work and lunch out with colleagues on Friday. Hopefully stocked up now on each of those things so won't need to do them again for a while!! Slightly alarmed at approaching a third of my budget gone already and it's only the 9th... think I need to do some eating from the cupboards for a while!
    Savings target: £25000/£25000

I spent £29.77 in Aldi yesterday. I didn't bother driving on to Sainsbury's as everything was cheaper there. I got some beers too which pushed up my planned spend. I nearly broke out in a cold sweat at the checkout as I have been leaving my card at home and only using cash but had forgotten and had merrily put the extra beer in the trolley. Luckily scraped up enough pennies.
Then got a few bits in Morrison's this morning as I took my MIL there. I must get a herb bed going, I love using lots of fresh herbs in cooking but it is pricey.
My budget runs to the 19th, payday for me. I am now up to £107.76, so 72% gone. I won't be spending much more as we are going away on the 15th and the spends will be from a different pot. I will be taking the basics with us though, there is only an independent grocer and a Co-op near where we will be staying.

    Afternoon,
I had quite a large spend today. I went to Lidl and bought 4 of the £1.99 pork loin joints. 4 of the chocolate bars and lots of fruit and veg also. I have updated my signature with my current total.

I made some nice soup this morning from the bits of veg in the fridge that were left over from the last shopping. That was our lunch.
Dinner is mince and dumplings at my sons request.

I am off to catch up, I hope everyone is doing well. :)

A definite vote for getting a herb bed going, I am shocked at the price of a few stems of rosemary, thyme etc. You can buy a whle plant for the price they want an it can last a few years. I now never buy herbs.

Just a quick signature update. Spent £2.72, on a few YS toiletries and veg and i also used a couple of coupons. Nothing major but if i dont write it here i will forget. On track and my month ends on the 15th Feb. I spoke to soon... popped out as ide run out of posh coffee and also had a couple of coupons for toilet rolls which were on offer at Mr.W. So i bought the rest of next weeks shopping at A**i, eggs on offer and carrots as the offer runs out today. So ive got £9.52 left .I may use some of the money on more loo rolls as the offer works out at £2.06 for 8quilted velvet rolls. Ive got 2 coupons to use up before 25th Feb or gamble and wait until another offer comes round as atm MrW. have these on offer. All i need is fruit which i willl get from A**i and ladies things lol.

Huge spend for us today but made the most of having to go to Mr T and Mr S for bits only they sell that were needed today as well as Mr A as usual. Totals are £33.94 in Mr A, £12.50 in Mr T to stock up and £10.56 in Mr S on chorizo and some frozen bits as well as about £12 on some baby gifts but they are from a different pot. So total today of £57 on groceries (ok have just added that up - argh)!! so £85.83 total so far, whoops.

Freezer is full so hopefully all sorted for at least a week!

Chicken fajitas for dinner - got the kit YS for 69p and sweet and sour chicken tomorrow for chinese new year!
  • Spent just under £8 yesterday (rounding up for ease of keeping track). Shouldn't need anything now for us this week really.
On Wednesday I'm off on my break to buy the food for the tournament next weekend (different budget).
Got given £20 today by bf's grandpa to treat us to lunch so we had a KFC bucket and I will use the change to stock up on Belvita breakfast biscuits which are half price atm in Mr M - one of the few things bf can stomach on a morning!
