Well spent too much again today - did Ald* for a main shop without a list (I know!) and spent £45.83, which could have been a lot worse :-)
Then did Mr T and spent £22 on washing powder, coffee pods and a few random bits that I couldn't get in Ald*
Was excited to see that carrots were on special in Mr T at £1 having bought some in Ald* for 39p :-)
Am not sure if I'm going to get through the month with the rest of my budget - it's my second month and I think I have underestimated our normal spend. Also, after Jan I found that I'd run down the freezer and cupboard more that I like to... and also that I was so excited I had entered Feb budget on the 1st that I went a bit crazy and bought too much in post-deprived stupor! Hope everyone else is doing better than me...June GC 21st May - 20th June (£78/£200)0 -

florenceem I made the coconut muffins yesterday, really good. I made scones that look like proper scones for the first time ever too - used a Mary Berry recipe instead of the Delia one I had been using for years. I baked a stollen from the freezer for OH and made some jellies too. The tin is well stocked, trying to keep the fam from feeling deprived.Grocery Challenge (2 adults 2 kids)

Not really had a great week, keep spending little bits here and there which have all added up to quite a big bit. Still within budget and if I just stick to using up what I have got I can still do it.0

Hi all
Not posted on this thread since the start of Feb - my challenge runs from the 25th-24th, and, looking at the numbers right now, I'm not sure I'll do it - there's about £15 left! Luckily, I did a "big" (well, big for me - £60!) shop at the start of last week to restock all of my tins and cupboard items, and picked up the fresh while I was there, so realistically, there's plenty of food in the house to get me through the next week or so.
I've done a quick menu for teatimes to get me to the end of this week, but then it'll be half term so no work, and I find it all goes out the window then! It won't help that I've got the boyfriend here from the 15th - 17th, then mum visiting over night on the 18th, then the boyfriend's back again from the 20th - 24th! Even if I do menu plan, it'll end up screwed up............... The only nights I won't be feeding someone else are the 17th and the 19th! Hoping mum takes me out for tea though when she stays, we normally go out somewhere - she cooks everynight at home, and can't stop from interfering in my kitchen, so it's safest for everyone!
Sunday - Pasta bake
Monday - LO Pasta bake (remaining 2 in the freezer)
Tuesday - Jacket Spud
Wednesday - Stir Fry
Thursday - Fish, HM Wedges, and Veg
No shopping needed for any of this, so apart from picking up a valentines card and a birthday card for my step-dad, I should get 4 NSD out of the week as well
Hope everyone's managing wellx

Well I spent again today  $15 on lettuce (the only thing I actually needed) watermelon, yogurt and cheese/crackers for lunches.
Which now puts me at just over $300 for the first week,, this is my usual amount but I was hoping to get it down so I could save the difference....
Tomorrows a new day :cheesy:0
