Spent a pound in L!dl today on some milk. Going to try out the new Morrisons in town which opens tomorrow...oohh how exciting!!
Only £8 left until the 19th Feb. I have meal planned though so all should be fine.
Going to put a DR order in today as the 8 packs of steak mince for £26 finishes today but will take it out of next month's budget.Saving for Disney again, oops why book one Disney holiday when you can book two!:starmod: Emergency Fund Savings - #148 - £10/£1000 1% :starmod::xmastree:#083 SPC6 £63 - SPC7 £90 - SPC8 £63 - SPC9 £54 - SPC10 £26 - SPC12 £70 :xmastree:0 -
Spent a few £s yesterday and today, but still have nearly £45 of my £80 food budget left. Not bad if I do say so! Technically got less than half the month left now, so don't see any problems with keeping to budget.
At the moment my cupboards and freezer are fit to bursting, and every week I say I'll just buy bread and ham for my lunches and no more, but I keep remembering something else I could do with, and I never get through it all! I'm going to pull out the worst culprits and find recipes that use them up this week.0 -
I feel that after a triumphant January I'm really struggling,
It doesn't help that I've bought a couple of bottles of vino as had visitors last week ( my brother and his new GF) and they coming again this week - so more vino out of my GC :eek:
That aside , even if I do go over budget ( I think I will) I think I've still cut right back on food buying ( just for the sake of it)
Is it just me or are many of you struggling this month?:money: I will never be rich but I'm happy :rotfl:0 -
i not struggling too much but have noticed the freezers etc running down a good bit , a lot of food in there was christmassy stuff so weaning it away. i dont know how feb is always so tight as its the shortest month so far for me anyway. i find if i get a month that has 5 fridays in it my money lasts longer dont ask me why as i cant tell you but its been years of me noticing this, i actually look forward to the 5 week months............could be in my minds eyei know i have to be more savvy with what i have .C.R.A.P.R.O.L.L.Z #7 member N.I splinter-group co-ordinater

Used my breadmaker for the first time today (it was one my mum got on freecycle ages ago and never used, then gave to me last year & I never used) & it has turned out pretty well. Hopefully a bit more practise and I'll start making lots of bread & rolls..... It is much more edible than the rolls I did in the oven on wednesday which were tasty but a bit like bricks!!!!!1% at a time no. 40. £8000 (For dream family holiday) 94/100

Reporting a small spend on Saturday of £3.95. Had the grand children so didnt really get time to post.
Think we have a fruit & veg monster lurking around somewhere as will want some more soon.
Cottage pie with cabbage, carrots and leeks today with apple sponge for afters - only small portion of pie left so mum took it for tomorrow and she will do some fresh veg with it.MARCH £62.38/2500 -
Have been out of it for a few days. I need to update my siggy. Have spent about £23.00 on groceries. Lots fruit and veg.
Got a really good (in my opinion) bargain the other day. 5kgs of dried borlotti beans for a fiver delivered. Well pleased. There are some in the meal in the slow cooker cooking away at moment. Te meal is mixed veg and borlotti beans in a rich tomato sauce. Very simple, very tasty
Whats leftover will do us all for tomorrow nights evening meal too. I have such a crush on my slow cooker right now :smileyheat:
Off to play catch up and to adjust siggy.Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200
