No spends today
well, ordered OH's birthday present but that's a separate budget!
Made veg & cashew stir-fry with HM hoisin sauce and in spite of getting the right ingredients this time, the sauce wasn't right at all - way too salty and runny. Think the recipe specifies far too much soy sauce. Had to keep adding more of everything else to balance the saltiness so ended up making far too much which will be wasted as I didn't really like it. Oh well!
I'm going to remove the recipe from the index to save others from suffering my fate and try again in a couple of weeks - if I work out how to make it so it's nice I'll add it againPart time working mum | Married in 2014 | DS born 2015 & DD born 2018

Update on my spends: £36.36 in Aldi.
I also found a receipt for last weeks shop £67.54 - at Mr A. Which counts as it's a shop that was made after pay day. So I'm going to have to change my "February month" from Jan 23rd to Feb 23rd. Pay day to payday.
I shopped in Aldi for the first time today, absolutely amazed because it was half the price as my usual shop in Mr A - YAY! Hopefully shopping there will mean that this months GC will be a doddleTrying to save up for a deposit for a mortgage....could be a while!!
Comping since 15/06/2014 - thanks to all those who post the competitions ❤️😀0 -
This sounds like a challenge for me. I live alone but still get through roughly £100 weekly on food, eek. I am a big eater but also buy a lot of extras as treats. On the positive don't eat many takeaways. This month am going to try and reduce it to £50 weekly and keep a record of everything.

No more spends today apart from the £2.20 Mr F overspent on last week's budget.
I didn't eat too well during the day - got an annoying tickly cough. I did eat all my dinner.
Well Mr F didn't have extractions today - had impressions taken so could eat his dinner.
We had HM cheese/onion/potato pie with roast potatoes, roast parsnip, savoy cabbage, brocolli, carrot and gravy.
Dinner tomorrow savoury rice and sausages. Packet of rice - OOD and sausages from the freezer.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

€23.43 to add to total, unfortunately. Dried fruit and pulses, tortillas, bin bags, baked beans, ice cream (naughty!) and a stock up on original source shower gel and handwash as it's half price at the moment. No more toiletries or pantry bits (apart from a bag of brown rice) needed for the rest of the month.
In other purchases - when did Lemsip get so expensive? Picked up a small pack of lemsip max as have a horrible cold and it was around a fiver! That's nearly a euro a sachet! If I wasn't feeling so miserable I'd have left it on the shelf.
Hope you feel better soon0 -
Yesterday was a nsd and today will be aswell
Making bulk pasta sauce today, had bought a 3kg tin of tomatoes for $3 - v cheap
Will freeze for when I need a quick tea so we dont get take away.
