Wow! 14 pages already and its not even February yet

Today is last day of my budget month and will be a NSD so I am setting next months budget at £450 again as although I went over last month, January is always a difficult, long month.

Wishing everyone well for the coming month :D

    Hi All.

I came under budget for January so I am very pleased :j - look thats me jumping! Setting budget for February for £350 again. Lets see if I can do it again before shaving anything off!

Did a large Tesc0 online shop where they sent short dated fish so I complained and got it refunded. So that makes 2 online shops and 2 complaints. They are very good about refunding the money but I don't like complaining. I would try sainsbugs but I would expect that to be very expensive.

Loving reading the thread even if I don't post often. Thanks to all would contribute and those who run it!

Just used my Andrew James Food Slicer. (pressie to myself for just under £50)
Reduced price loin of pork, roasted it in the oven whilst doing some baking; just sliced it and divided it into 100g packs ready for the freezer, cost £3.90 - 10 x 100g packs sliced sandwich meat which would normally cost £20. Sometimes you've gotta love OS.:D
I used to have a food slicer years ago - manual - don't know what happened to it. Got an idea it was left behind when I moved.
I see Lakel... have an electric slicer cheaper than this one - anyone got it please?

Sorry dont know about this oe but I see Amazon have the kenwoo 2l250 for 26.99.This is the one I have an I would really recommend it. I particularly like its compact size, it folds up, as I dont have a lot of room but this one I can keep behind the microwave in the corner of unit.

  • Thanks coxy for adding me on!! My "Feb" is 28th Jan to 27th Feb to match my paydays so I've started already.. just about to spend my lunchtime meal planning .. made a list of "tupperware surprises" that are in the freezer (although I am getting a lot better about labelling them :) ) so that should provide quite a lot from stores..

I had to pop to the local shops to collect a prescription so decided to start February's shop early. I went into the Co** and spent £33.07 which leaves £6.93 until the 8th Feb.

I took advantage of the special offers and doubled up on items that I know I use weekly, so if I have planned correctly I should need to spend less next week. (fingers crossed please!)

It's good to be back and being focussed again. :j

    Hello all :)

Just a quick update for yesterdays spends whilst i remember before going into town. Did our weekly shop in Mr T's yesterday spending £38.39 and shockingly that is mostly on food for work for DP (he's a lorry driver doing long hours). Just need to go to the £1 shop now for:

    *Foil
    *Tea
    *Mayo
    *Toothpaste
    *Razors
    *Coffee

I always try to get certain things from the £1 shop as i know they're cheaper there.

In other news got my car back now ended up costing me around £150 for the MOT. Car tax due tomorrow. I cant remember if i mentioned that also my phone and GHD straighteners have broken this week too, seems like bad luck comes in threes. I really resent spending £100plus on my hair straighteners, but the ones ive had have lasted 3.5 years so far so working out cost per use its around 9p per day so i've decided to treat myself to a new pair tomorrow if DP looks at the ones i have and decides they are beyond repair. I've seen loads of repair websites advertised on google, but i'm a bit wary of them...

Anyway hope you all have a nice day. Will update signature.

    Suze :)
