February 2013 Grocery Challenge

To help you out with that - only buy own brand. Not only is it cheapest, in terms of protection it's normally the best too. The vast majority of own brand products have their 5 star UVA rating, but many (far too many) branded products get away with the EU minimum of 3 stars and give about half the protection against the long term damage. If you're not bothered by greasiness, go as cheap as you can, higher cost often just means nicer texture and smell, rarely does it actually relate to any protection benefit.
Boots own brand is awesome! if you want cheap and smells nice without too much greasyness!Total debt paid £25645

Just used my Andrew James Food Slicer. (pressie to myself for just under £50)
Reduced price loin of pork, roasted it in the oven whilst doing some baking; just sliced it and divided it into 100g packs ready for the freezer, cost £3.90 - 10 x 100g packs sliced sandwich meat which would normally cost £20. Sometimes you've gotta love OS.:D0 -

Good morning everyone, hope you are all fine today.
Thanks coxy for adding me to the list, official incentive now!
I only shop every two or three weeks depending on stock levels, and went last Thursday to do the 'big shop' to cover last part of Jan and roughly 7-10 days of Feb so I have already used £87.50 of Feb budget but this should be all (apart from milk) we need until at least the end of next week.
Hoping to keep things to a minimum this month.
