Last day of this weeks budget for me. Ive managed to come under again - but not by much! £186.91/£190

It was a big spend week for us with DS's birthday party to pay for. Petrol and the party took the lions share of the money - around £120. The rest was groceries and misc spends (like DS's kickboxing). I loose track of exactly what the money is spent on as both DH and I use it, but its drawn out in cash on the Friday and kept in a purse so that way I know exactly how much we've spent. Im happy enough doing it that way for the time being as the aim for now is just keeping within a set amount. Once we're a bit more used to it we may start keeping a weekly spending diary to see if we can make further cutbacks - but this challenge is absolutely fab for keeping you on track!!

    Sunday - Cinema - £7.28, grocery shopping £39.55, Petrol - £25.79 = £72.62
Monday - Meal out - £0 - NSD Friends paid for the meal for my birthday. :j

Thurs - £11.65, bunny food, and some grocery bits. Booo. This has taken me well over my grocery budget for the week, but luckily had other budgets to dip into, but keeping me green over all.

  • Ohhhh ETO please put me down as a RED - as TOTALLY BUST this week:o

I've been keeping track in my spending diary but haven't updated the spreadsheets yet so don't know the overall totals but .... not good :(

Have been to several SM:( - and spent (but reasonable amounts - they just all add up) - haven't been able to get out for months and there's things I like from some that I haven't been able to have for ages :o

Non-grocery side hasn't been good either .... :o - mostly purchases under £5 .. again just far too many of them!

Will sort myself out & regroup for next week

I've started my own Debt Free Diary (Journey to the Emerald City) so as not to hog any other threads I'm a part of with my own personal ups and downs...

Abundant totally agree with the others... please don't feel ashamed / embarrassed - we all have our vices, it's realising when they're getting out of control & working to sort them out that matters (((hugs))) glad you're finding the help you need.

Could you post a link to your diary (I can't find it :o)?

Managed a NSD today! Have a planned spend day tomorrow as out with friends for dinner... But it's in the evening and hoping not to spend too much.

Am on a mission to use up my food cupboard contents before I buy more food... so have some weird and wonderful recipes heading my way...

Keep up the good work!!! :D

Hi everyone, just to update i had another NSD yesterday and so far today all i have spent was £1.20 on a birthday card for my cousin. As i started my week on saturday i only have a few hours left before i can declare myself within budget!!

Hope everyone else has had a good week - Abundant it was lovely to read your post and see that at least you recognise the issues and are prepared to take the support from others to help you overcome this hurdle. You'll get there!!!! xxx

Just realised i spent £13.00 at the pet shop on dog food yesterday so actually my NSD is now null and void. BUT still in budget £78.98/£100 :T

Honestly i dont know how i've done it, its amazing. Normally £78 wouldn't last me 2 minutes, this time its lasted me a whole week I'm stunned!!
    Thankyou guys xxx
    Looking for a fresh start
  • Well done Zaleska. :j Feels so good when it works out doesnt it. :D

Well i have managed another NSD today, really chuffed with the week i've had too. Really focused on keeping spends to a minimum. I'm sure i'll make up for it when hubby gets back though.
