Out of interest, for those of you who are going to brittany in may half terrm or indeed other times, did you all manage to book your ferry sucessfully, and did you get your 'sun' discount? I'm wondering particularly about those who managed to book seven nights?
I have seen a few people posting saying they had problems booking their ferry once they'd got their holiday, or that they didn't receive their link to book it at all!
We are using the tunnel for france this year, but hoping to do brittany or spain next year in may and would need to book a ferry...

I've been Plymouth to Roscoff a couple of times and never had a problem booking through The Sun after I'd booked the actual holiday.

I'm also doing the tunnel this year, never done it before so will be an experience!

have you read the reviews ?! we did exactly the same last yr ,booked for the wrong Golden Coast :(

didn't bother paying the rest and just lost the £38 !

I made that mistake a few years ago too, ended up coming home a day early because the weather was bad and the place was such a dump!

If i book for 6 people under one refernce number can u then upgrade to two caravans?

i booked one unit (chalet) in a sun holiday for 4 adults and 2 children, however nearer to the time of the hol my hubbie fell out with my sister and her hubbie (the other two adults) so i phoned up the site to arrange separate accommodation however we were charged £99 for the weekend.

our first holiday was at a john fowler site in ilfracombe we stayed in a tiny tiny pokey grotty chalet miles out from the main complex. the guttering was broke and the rain fell and fell and kept us awake all night. no shower just a bath the place was freezing and the heater in the lounge was broke. we came home on the wednesday. nothing to do in ilfracombe and overcome by the older older generation never again. sorry to say this but it was a nightmare

That sounds exactly like the place I stayed, it has to be the same. It was John Fowler and was almost the worst Sun holiday I've had (the worst being West's Caravan Park in Kilorglin, Co Kerry, Ireland)

yes i am sure it was the same place the chalet looked like 50 or more years old the drain pipe was broke and the rain leaked down hard. it was hell. the place was old damp and certainly a romance breaker.

maybe next time we should do a review thread on the sites we have been too broken down in counties so it would be easy to read and give you some idea as to where to go.

It also stunk like public toilets :(

The only highlight of that little holiday was Watermouth Castle, which my kids loved.
