Daughter absolutely potless dont know where to turn

In early December the OP posted that her daughter had rented a flat and that everything was sorted. Seems things have changed.0

No Your the nasty one ive read your comments on other threads. You dont give advice just critisizm you seem to like the word nasty too. You need to look in the mirror. Yes you posted back on early pages but it was NASTY!
Everyone who disagrees with you is nasty though aren't they?
It has been fairly obvious that you thought your daughter and her family would be able to claim benefits as soon as they got off the plane from Spain, much as you yourself did. It hasn't worked out as easy as that and now you are angry.
If it was your idea for them to come to the UK then you should have looked into all this first. In the meantime until they get an income you will have to provide for them as any mother/grandmother would.0 -
I don't see the OP as getting nasty, more being attacked and getting upset and fighting back. However there is an unpleasant faction on here that like getting people upset, I suspect their narrow sad little lives need livening up.Love many, trust few, learn to paddle your own canoe.
“Don’t have children if you can’t afford them” is the “Let them eat cake” of the 21st century. It doesn’t matter how children got here, they need and deserve to be fed.0 -
OP without looking back over the whole thread, am i correct in remembering you mentioned one of the little ones is starting nursery? Is this funded? (if that makes any difference) and maybe this can help speed up the residency problem?0
-
OP some posts back I gave you information on how to apply for Habitual Residence and a link to the forms they would need to fill in and the documents that they need to produce to support an Habitual Residence claim.
I asked you for information so that we could try and help you with this specific issue (since that is the title of your thread) but I cannot find any response from you on this thread.
Your daughter and her husband have two choices - they either comply with the requirements and procedures necessary to prove habitual residence, or they don't. It is no good expecting the benefits agency to sort this out as it it is not their priority. But it should be her priority.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -

actualll i was sticking up for another poster that was being called nasty. Did i say i was angry no all i did was ask for advice. And no it wasnt my idea that they come here who said that? I was happy that my daughter was happy in spain until things went wrong. I did not ask them to come here why would i offer to house and feed a family of 4 when im struggling already. I had no choice they were destitute and homeless.0 -

The OP still hasn't clarified if they actually filled in the forms, got a written response or what it was....
Debating opinion of entitlement is pretty pointless imo, they need to look at the process and decision....0 -

It is important that you understand the EU economics to be honest. Spain gave away a lot of benefits and thought it was "rich" until the penny dropped and they started austerity measures which meant your daughter's family could not rely on benefits there.
The system in UK is still very generous at the moment and you will find heaps of people on benefits enjoying a free house and free money. But it wont last very long. Maybe a year tops. The UK govt too will be forced to cut back when they cannot borrow money anymore. And then what? What will your daughter do ? Dont you think your son in law should seriously start planning on how to provide a roof for his family ? I have spent the last 3 years doing that, saving money, sacrificing holidays, driving a 10 year old car etc etc. My lifestyle is "poor" compared to some people who claim benefits but I am not bitter about it,because I have planned for my future if something seriously goes wrong.0 -
