I suspect McKneff quoted justlooking's post thinking it would include the 'quote' of gentiles post. It is easily done - I did it myself recently not realising the 'quoted' part of the post isn't included.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0

hubby had accident in work on Xmas eve and is now on ssp for at least the next 3 months which i believe to be around £85. I lost my job in November and have just found a part time job of 12 hours for £72 a week so a weekly income of £157 how on earth do people manage on this??? (previous income £550 between the two of us) apparently not entitled to any help with council tax or mortgage either. Any advice would be really appreciated as at this moment we can't see a way out. I am looking for extra work but there is nothing at the moment i check with job center everyday, go online, even cold calling.
If it's any consolation, you are not alone. My hubby and I both ended up working less than 16 hours and really struggling. Without dependent children then there's not a lot of help available I'm afraid. All I can suggest is to make a list of all your bills and then contact them. Let them means test you and pay what you can. At the end of the day they can't have what you've not got. Meantime try to keep your chin up and keep on looking and I hope things improve for you.0 -
I only got through the first sentence. Please do not be so ignorant
People like you annoy me so damn much, there is absolutely no need for being nasty or name calling. This sort of thing is not welcome on here and you wont last long before you are banned. Now either delete that part of your post or apologise. Otherwise I will be reporting your post for abuse.

You have to have a thick skin on here don't you? LOL.
To the OP: I would simply give the advice that people have already put. See the CAB, ask your mortgage company if you can maybe go on interest only. There HAS to be more help due to you: your income is very low.0 -
In the long term, will he be able to claim anything from the company. For example, was the accident due to their negligence. Also, he could try speaking to personel to see if they can offer any help. They might be able to offer a loan to be taken out of future earnings.0

To the original person posting - Look at www.charis.org They might be able to help with some parts of your utility bills for a bit.
If you have unsecured debts like credit cards or store cards etc, drop the payments to £1/month for now. They are not important. What is important is keeping a roof over your heads - so ring and speak to mortgage lenders arrears dept. Explain what has happened. They may be able to lower your payments for 3 months while your OH gets better. Normally you are allowed 2 months of arrears to build up with most of them before serious action is taken, so speaking to them now is best. Our wonderful gov't deem that we only need £111.45 per week to live on, so £157 is way above what they state is nat min. This is unfortunate as it is not really anywhere near enough. You could ask about getting council tax lowered for rest of the year or even just spread out into weekly payments for now as that would help a bit. Set up a TV licence saving stamp account on line and pay that week by week if you can. Cancel DD if you have one for it. However ring them up and tell them why first. They can be quite accomodating. Those are the must pay bills. Followed by utilities. Check with each one to see if you are in credit on the accounts, if so ring them and ask to lower your DD's to take those into account for the time being. Lots of people are well in credit and fail to do this simple thing. It might not buy you much time, but it may help.0 -

Make up your mind.
Anyway as I said if you feel the need to report then please do. But I would respectfully suggest that you are the ignorant one in this situation. I have read a lot worse on this site than saying an answer is bloody stupid.
I personally feel its more to do with the fact of how many posts you have and that you somehow feel you have the right to tell other people what to do, indeed I may have found it rude and somewhat ignorant to be told by you to "Now either delete that part of your post or apologise". But we all have different views I suppose, but I am willing to accept when I am wrong, are you?

I agree. I never felt offended if that would help matters. I have been told to F*ck myself when I have questioned a single mum on why she lets her hubbie stay over on weekends and visits every other day and she claims benefits as a single mum. So in that respect your post hardly deserves to be reported.

The quote was "what a bloody stupid answer", that is an attack on the post not an attack on the poster, it is neither nasty nor name calling. It's someone else's fault.0
