    Hi All,

On the 2nd January 2013, certain Yankee Candle products were incorrectly priced on our website. This error was identified and corrected on the same day.

Whilst it is always our intention to keep our website up to date and error free, pricing errors can occasionally occur.

On this occasion, as a gesture of goodwill, we will honour all those customers that placed an order, 1 Yankee Candle product each at the reduced price which was advertised when they placed their order.

We will therefore be contacting all customers directly over the coming days to advise them of our next steps. (If you didn’t place an order, unfortunately we will not be able to honour the reduced price)

    Many Thanks

When the representative says "certain products", do they mean all of the £8 large candles or do they mean certain scents within the large candles? As mentioned before, some of these scents are available on the high street [and in certain garden centres] for around £10, so £8 was not an unreasonable price to expect.

It is also odd that the money has been taken from some accounts, if they are going to be altering and reducing the orders. How will this work for people who have placed larger orders to make use of the £25 off promo?

I don't know. These things rarely go to plan [with the exception the great Asda 3 for £10 off a few weeks ago, which was honoured in full and delivered in time for Christmas]! I'd ordered two candles. One for my mother [for mother's day] and one for me [as I've bought so many Yankee Candles for relatives but have never actually had one of my own]... Fingers crossed they let us select the scent we want, so I can pick the scent my mother likes - that would be some compensation at least... :o

I wonder if you'll get to choose which one to buy.

Need to keep an eye out for them sending out the whole order and charging full price. I recall that they did that with some beds a couple of years ago. Advertised at one price, which showed in the order too, and then sent them out, and when you checked your account, the full price was on there!
  • I think it's good of Littlewoods to do this, to be honest. There have been many glitches over the years and some companies can fulfill them, others can't/don't.
Especially in this economic climate, companies really need to watch their money. I personally love a bargain but not at the expense of a company going into administration and the loss of hundreds of jobs.
They could have said orders will be cancelled, but they are allowing us a candle which is still a bargain and I for one am pleased, so thank you!

    Thanks Littlewoods.

I am a completely new to Yankee (and Littlewoods!). I went for Jasmine and Pink sands but have no idea which one I would prefer! Anyone got any advice they want to share please?

Also I heard about wrapping foil round the thing to stop it tunneling and also trimming the wicks. Youtube it if you're not sure.

    Thans

Can I ask a stupid question? Why are people addicted to these candles? I have seen them everywhere but not felt compeled to buy one.

The scents are gorgeous and make your home smell heavenly - they are by far the best candles I've ever tried (and I've triend lots). The fragrances are very true to the label as well - True Rose for example smells like roses, not some vaguely rose-ish floral scent that you get from other 'rose' candles

These are the only candles I have ever found that always burn down evenly, and you can smell them without having to stand right near them.

Think it's great that Littlewoods are letting us have one each :T
