hi KB did Mr KB say why he wants to frame them...? Good job on the cross stitch
moneypenny - after seeing the xstitch you`ve done of the dragon theres no hope of me doing that. So I `ve bought a simple chart of a seaside scene, start small and work up lol, thank you anyway, its much appreciated
rufus - well done on the tailor dummy, i love free things
mum2one - did you get the lunch date after? I just had one with DS pub by us doing 3 courses for £5.35 so he treated me as he`s got another job.
wb queenb nice to see you again
Been up hospital, they are so frustrating, had an hour appointment spent the whole hour talking to me , don't seem to get anything done, its so frustrating....arrrggg
Good news today though, charlies been taken off his ventilator and is breathing on his own. Which is fab when you think last night they gave him the wrong dose of medication (too much) and where watching him for hours to see what would happen....Challenge 2018 - Learn by heart the Book by Wayne Morgan on Amazon - Betfair Football Trading as it helps to supplement my small income :beer:0 -
Good news about Charlie Susan, sounds like he is being a little fighter. Shame about the hospital but I know what you are talking about. I had to go the other week, had been told by my GP and another health person that this rheumatologist would be able to tell me what is causing my problems but he didn't, just said he would re do some blood tests that I had already had done and took another xray also done before. Said if there was anything on either he would write to me otherwise he would just be writing to my GP with a recommendation to increase my painkillers. Nothing about what is causing it all which is what I have been hoping for the last 7 years.
Used my dummy today, made a start on trying out the pattern for my dress. I am making up a basic version of it out of some sheeting to get the sizing right before I dare cut into my lovely vintage fabric.0 -
Susan - That is absolutely brilliant news about Charlie, knew he was a little fighter.
KB - Wow that sounds a massive compliment that Mr KB wants to frame the x-stitch, have you got one that you could still give to mum - its the time and effort that go into them that makes the value of them.
No never got my lunch date in the end - maybe fate stepped it, guess were get there eventually.
I'm a happy bunny - have booke tickets to see Showaddywaddy later in the yr, my childhood heros, I saw them about 15 yrs ago, weve got 2nd row in the theatre, but were we are sat right on end of the row and no-one in front of us.
Hope everyone ok xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
It's the time and whatnot that went into the cross stitches - I don't know but I think he might want to show them off. I've managed to get a little bit more done today but not much as I've got stuff on my mind. I haven't got that much done today apart from housework and have a bit of ironing to do tomorrow.
On the plus side, while sorting out some books I found a cookbook with a massive section on homemade chocolates. I have some moulds so will be doing some (ahem) testing to make sure they'd make good gifts. Then, at Christmas, I can supply homemade chocolates to my friends and save some money that way.
On that note, a colleague gave me her recipe for Bailey's and White Chocolate fudge - now that is one that is going to get some testing too, along with the variation - dark chocolate and Jack Daniels. ..
I foresee some merry evenings. I always did like Keith Floyd
mum2one - I've seen Showaddywaddy - they do a great show and I'm sure you'll have a fantastic time. They played the town I work in not so long ago too.
Have a lovely evening and weekend. Take care all.

susan ive just read back and noticed what you said about dragon, i wasnt that hard they were all full cross stitches (no halves or quarters) it was made up of only 7 colours, black white and 5 shades of red.
The best advice ive ever been given re stitching is to make a photocopy of your chart just for working from so you done damage your original. Then starting near the middle as you usually do on cross stitch every stitch you do you mark it off with a coloured pencil or felt pen on the photocopy, a lady in a shop told me to do this and if you change coloured pens/pencils each day you know where to were the day before and you know how many days youve worked on a piece.
just to add you are not permitted to photo copy designs to sell or pass on but if you have the original and are just making a copy to work from then destroy that is ok.
i hope this makes sense, it has really helped me keep my stitching neat and in order.
went over mums at weekend so took her mothers day cards and pressies to save posting later.

Hi everyone, I just caught up on the last three pages.
Lovely dragon cross stitch, and I also looked at the photo of the fantasy angel that had been completed, looked hard !! Big achievements all around.
mum2one - what is the magazine invite about? I wasn't surprised to read that a bag of presents were found in the loft, I still recall those 800 Xmas cards you lost years ago lol.
hi Baby C and queenb :j
I didn't go to my usual haunts for 6 days as I had to keep my mind clear because on Wednesday I had a meeting with ex and my dad and we made a joint decision about the financial settlement. I'm so relieved as it had been going on for years between solicitors.
I went out at the weekend but now I am finding it very hard for my mind to switch off all the dramas, plus I had some very late nights at a friends house so feel exhausted today. I need to pay a legal bill and all the paperwork I need is mixed up since last year, I might leave it until this evening to work on..
Susan, glad to hear the baby is doing well. How are you?
KB - how are you today, any better?
Rufus - great you have got yourself a dummy. LOL anyone reading will wonder about this
Clare - did you enjoy London?0 -
Afternoon everyone. I have major butterflies over something today - wish I could put my finger on what it is. Work is a little better but the atmosphere gets rather tense at times still so we'll see.
No more work done so far on the cross stitch or on anything else apart from a quick bit of pampering - I painted my toenails and that's about it. I need to find another birthday card for one of my colleagues as I picked up a card from my pile that's way too blokey for her - I need something a bit more girly.
Beyond that, I need to have a sort out of my wardrobe and try and find another place to store my presents for the year ahead. I did find this in a work book club thing so will be picking it up for a present for one of the guys I need to buy for for Christmas. At £4 it seems like a good deal.
Hope everyone else is ok. Big hugs to those feeling down.

Hello again
KB, that's a good find.
I haven't done a thing today, after posting earlier I fell asleep, felt as though I've been drugged . I know I did a lot of walking at the weekend and had very late nights but I used to do that everyday until I stopped going out last week.
I'm wondering if it's down to eating a few things I'm allergic to on Sunday I felt really out of sorts today..
How is everyone?0
