I've been concentrating on the cross stitch and struggling to payday this month. While the sales seemed like a good idea at the time I think I should have paced myself a bit more. Oh well, at least the benefit of some presents in the cupboard should still be there at Christmas! I'm currently in the process of meal planning for the rest of the month to make the best of what I've got in. It's a long process
I'm trying to find a really easy pattern for knitting gloves (i.e., for a total beginner like myself). I want a few pairs to give to people this year.

Hi all,
Need to finish designing my cross stitch for SIL's wedding. Bit behind on it to be honest. Argh. lol
Well done on the freezer mum2one. We've eaten a lot of stuff from ours, but not found anything overly interesting unfortunately!
Kitchenbunny - I feel your pain! We've been strict meal planning since 2 weeks ago. lol We made it though, and it's big shop time tonight!
Hope everyone's well.

This year I'm determined to do all my Christmas and birthday shopping in advance so I'd love to join in. I'd like to do some homemade things too.
I can't take advantage of the January sales unfortunately as our mortgage payment is higher than we expected this month (were hoping it was going down this month but turns out we're a month too early!)
Bit late to this post but have decided to join the challenge.
Due to posts from MSE did a biggish Boots 75% sale shop and got a few gifts for this coming Christmas already - saved about £100 which is good in my book.
Anything which *isn't* marked as Christmas-like will be put into present drawer for other friends.
But I want to ensure I give gifts for people they'll either use or want.
A good challenge with spreadsheet etc if it can be stuck to!0 -

Just a thought. Do you need gloves? Reason I ask is that mittens are very much easier as you obviously don't have to knit each finger individually! Or the other alternative is to knit a pair or 2 of mitts first , and then progress to glovesBeing polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

Best bit is - head /deputy head (not sure which one) told the kids they all have to be on best behaviour and (best) that the ofsted may want to speak to all members of the school council - for their views - Guess whos on the school council!!
On mse front - have been painting some wooden hearts - going to make them into magnets for fridge and paint initials on - so do as little knick nacks off Miss Hoodie xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -

Aww Susan, keeping my fingers crossed about Charlie.
I need to get my finger out and get on with something, getting really lazy lately. Suppose with things up in the air at home at the moment doesnt help.0
